Instead 540 is an old proved device. I have 540 for about 1 year and very happy with it. It is better windows 8 denim. Initially with Windows 10, things got little messy. But now it is better than ever. Today I get a small update of the "touch app" which is now enables to silent the incoming call when the device is turned back. I have this feature on my old galaxy device and missing on the 540, but form now I won't. You should also get the update.

When I thought of buying a phone "Microsoft" is my first choice.
First I thought of buying Lumia 550 but after a long research in Internet I decided to buy Lumia 540 and I must tell that it makes me satisfied beyond my expectations.Before buying I read the reviews of the user and I got a little bit of tensed by reading the negative reviews.
But finally when the phone is on my hands I can say one thing"beyond imagination".

shiva, 26 May 2016How to upgrade it to windows 10 Upgrade to Windows is a smooth process. You need 2 things 1) at least 2 GB WIFI or 3g mobile data, the main file will be at least 1 GB in size and than you have to update the other small apps also. 2) patience. It will take at least or about 2 hours, the download process is short, but installing. Rebooting and migrating the data rakes a lot of time. Do it in a time when no one will call you or message. As for the process, it is 2 step process. Here are the steps. A) first download a small app from the "store" called "Upgrade Advisor",it is 2 /3 MB app, than run it. It will show that "your device has update available". B) Start the upgrade process than. My personal advice. 1) when doing upgrading, plug the device to power board. 2) do the upgrading at night or early morning . Or you can use the Sims on another device temporarily, if you want to stay connected. Overall I did in my 540 and 535 without any problems. So, best of luck and follow the steps. Also please do not install any Windows preview from 3 rd party source. Just upgrade it as I have advised.

Niraaz, 31 May 2016Just hardreset ur phone & install only necessay apps no... moreI have updated both my 540 and father's 535 to latest windows 10 update. It took about 1 hour. Now at least the battery problem is solved. My 540 is consuming less battery like earlier now, 1% in 1 hour in standby mode in night running "quiet hours" which is acceptable. Before that I lost at least 30% in just 6/7 hours in night even in air plane mode. As for apps, I do not use a lot of them, got few productive, travelling and shopping apps only with hike, Skype, what's app etc. Anyway finally I am happy that the battery problem is solved. I will advice all 540 and 535 users to update the OS immediately. Trust me it is a real nightmare to see you charged the phone to 100% before going to sleep and when you wake up after 6/7 hours you see battery level is 57%, you wonder are you sleeping or playing/ talking on the phone whole night.

Santhosh, 31 May 2016Any one facing issue with camera after windows 10 update ? ... moreI faced same problem. No back camera or front camera is working. For a second I thought my camera is broken as I have discovered a small hairline Crack on the battery panel. Anyway I than restart the phone and both the camera is working fine now. As for Windows and plastic phones, I am done with them. I have decided to go for a full Metal body phone for the next upgrade.
