Just purchased the 640XL and is the first Windows phone I have owned as I am an android user. Huge screen, long battery life, the ONLY issue is the apps available in store but there is more than enough for my needs. A great phone!

Go to settings, Then Allow whatsapp to run in Background...

I bought this phone two days ago..Sometimes I don't get whatsapp notifications..I can only see the messages if i open whatsapp..If I restart the phone then it is alright for sometime but the problem starts all over again..thinking to return it..any suggestions what to do with the problem??

If you can't live without some android apps, better take the samsung, but if you want to explore the microsoft ecosystem then try the lumia 640xl, aside from the store, I can recomment 640xl to you... Hope that windows 10 will change the whole microsoft ecosystem

Isn't really worth the price IMO. For USD250~ it comes with a 720p screen, 1GB RAM(many cheap phones already have 2GB or more) and a 1.2 Ghz Quad core(old architecture to boot) cpu? The battery is nice, but still no thanks.

Bought this phone. Growing on me everyday, good battery life. Nice camera. Just buy this phone for future sake! The only cons atleast for me is the app availabality, hopefully vscocam and youtube will start to cooperate with windows.

... moreit depends on your place... if you live in an area where it supports LTE then go for tlhe LTE, otherwise it will be useless if you are living in a place with no LTE

My old phone was an LG optimus G e975.. I love that phone very much ( i'll miss the quick memo and Q-Slide, if it wasn't broken ( touchscreen related concerns) I will definitely replaced it.. But thanks, I have discovered a beast!!!
I recently bought this phone... and I am a very happy user... the battery is a total beast... my last time charge to full 100% was 18hrs and 50 minutes ago and as of this writing still have 56% of battery life, mathematically speaking I only consumed 44% of the battery life which is roughly 2.3%/hr battery consumption. I am a medium user. I use it today for surfing, text and call as well as watching downloaded movies and streaming video clips

> buttery smooth even with only 1 gig of ram and snapdragon 400 processor
> I like the glance screen more than the notification light of other phones.
> with double tap in every place of the touchscreen panel to wake and double tap on the navigation bar to sleep.
> Can see the screen clearly even under direct sunlight thanks to its sunlight readibility option.
> With NFC and project my screen (same as chromecast)
> With built in call +sms filter which blocks unwanted calls and sms.

To sum it up, this phone is a beast in its price range... No other phone within its price range can compete with this monster... Yes, android phones like (ASUS and Mi) have a better specs in terms of RAM, ROM and chipset than the 640xl. but no other smartphone within its price range could last more than a day without recharging its juice and can compete with its fully customizable camera app to look like being shot with a professional cam.
I definitely recommend this phone.
