You can upgrade to Windows 10 by joining the Windows Insider using the Store App on your phone but it is not recommended. I've tried it. There are numerous bugs and some of the old Apps you are used to do not work with the new Windows 10. Also if you want to wind back to Windows 8 then that can also be a pain in the neck. If you must have Windows 10 on the phone then the best bet is to buy the later model.

Its battery is not as powerful as it is stated. But it is OK

Cant understand what happen with my 640xl.. from last few days suddenly whole screen become greenish or brown. after reboot or screen lock/unlock, screen become normal. Somebody tell me what is the prob? can I do?

Skype will only support Windows 10 Mobile and will drop support for Windows Phone 8.1 and 8 starting October 2016.Its a worst Microsoft ditch it's own software support for it's own Windows plaform.Windows 8.1 is not as old to Retire apps support it's so embarrassing Microsoft thats why your Windows phone market share less than 1%.Microsoft really not serious about its smartphone.It will be much better to stay away from Mobile business forever.

But after doing the factory reset in regular intervals(min 3 times in a day). Now iam able to access google play store in my windows phone. If you reset min 6 times in a day, you can upgrade the windows to apple ios too. Hope this will help you

I am using this phone from last one year. Amazing camera. Try using "Lock Screen Wall" app for wallpapers, it is purely made for windows phones, to test the image clarity.

I'm using this phn frm past 6 months..no doubt its a good phn..but recently im facing some problms.
subway surfer game disappeared from my app menu.but i didnt uninstalled dat game..when i visit store it says i have already installed that game..
now many apps like camera,maps,music,radio are not visible from my app menu..i have to access them by using cortana..its really irritating..btw im still on win 8.1.what should i do..plz help me guyz...thank u in advance..

I swear I love this Windows Phone. It's been 3 months I'm using Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual SIM without any problem. I've upgraded it to Windows 10 as Microsoft's advice and it runs smooth, clear, and no error happens or something like that. I don't bloody care if I will never be able to play Pokemon Go on this device, there are a lot of other games I can install. I truly hope Sir Bill Gates will continue to produce Windows Phone in the future.
I'm wondering if anyone has idea about the OS that will be used by Surface Phone?
