Do Hard Reset>let install previous OS 8.1>go to store download update adviser>run update adviser>follow all the step>go to phone update>let install Windows 10>after complete installation>go to system>about>more info>check out OS build 104>go to setting>update security>phone update>new OS build available to install>let complete the installation process>Go to system>about>more info>check out OS build 164>reset your system>let complete the installation process>update all existing apps>enjoy lag free Windows 10 and feel the difference. My Lumia 640 XL performing perfectly no issues till date.Battery backup issue is common with all Lumia Smartphone running on Windows 10 OS even 950 & 950 XL and 550 having less battery backup and will be fix with the coming update relax and update your Lumia devices. We have to agree that Microsoft is much concerned about it's devices performance that why he rolled out Windows 10 for the selected devices only. And work hard for the rest devices.

I will never recomend to go back to Windows 8.1.My Lumia 640 XL having network freezing problem since last One month and the problem was more cronic as the time was passed.Restarst is the only solution I was visited to Nokia care but they said that there is no issues in smartphone it will be eliminate soon. After two days I got Winndows 10 update. After W 10 update Network freezing issues completly fix but call drop problem.Solution - After Windows 10 update device is looking for second 164 build install it ,then after hard reset is required after hard reset your device is completly copitable with Windows 10 OS (smooth performace) you can easly differentiate between two.Yes Windows 10 battery backup is lesser than the Windows 8.1 but in performance Windows 10 is much much better than Windows 8.1

The issue I'm facing after updating to Windows 10 is posting a comment on Facebook. It takes ages to post a small comment. MS should roll out another update to fix all these glitches. Speaker is not as loud as before anymore.

It's even worse, this is not final version, take whole this year 5 to 10 patches to stabilize. Call drop, worst, email merge into all, and settings most options not operational. What the sh t Microsoft did, doing, will do.

I just upgraded my Lumia 640 XL to Windows 10 mobile. It took around 6 hours to complete the download. I download it. The update through upgrade advisor. After completing the update I hard reset the phone. Then there is one more update. After this update. I once again hard reset the phone. And then after completion of apps update I did a soft reset. Now, my phone is working fine.

Windows 10 upgrade is a very lengthy process it will takes too much time for installation. Its actually a 'Official Public release' and not a 'Final Version' .
There will be new updates on the way, which will add features and have bug fixes. To enjoy bug free Windows 10 experience we have to complete Upgrade to existing OS 8.1 1st then We will get further update. This update is better than the earlier insider Windows 10 preview.Currently I m using 2G data plan and edge browser perform brilliantly.Looks like I m using 3G data.Call drop issues is present With the Window 10 upgrade.

Microsoft officially announces Windows 10 Mobile over-the-air update has begun.
How to update your older Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile?
As you may know, Microsoft has finally begun rolling out the over-the-air update for Windows 10 Mobile to a select number of older Windows Phones devices. Here's how you can find out if your phone is eligible and how to download the update if it is actually available for your device.
1. Check the list:
Only a small number of Windows Phones can currently support the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. Here's the list of phones as it stands right now, but keep in mind that Microsoft will likely update this list in the coming weeks and months.
Lumia 1520
Lumia 930
Lumia 640
Lumia 640XL
Lumia 730
Lumia 735
Lumia 830
Lumia 532
Lumia 535
Lumia 540
Lumia 635 1GB
Lumia 636 1GB
Lumia 638 1GB
Lumia 430
Lumia 435
BLU Win HD w510u,
BLU Win HD LTE x150q,
MCJ Madosma Q501
2. Download and use the Upgrade Advisor app:
If your phone is indeed on the list above, your next step is to download and install Microsoft's Upgrade Advisor app:
After you open the app on your Windows Phone, all you have to do is tap "Next" to see if the Windows 10 Mobile update is available to download.
3. Download the upgrade
After you tap "Done" on the Upgrade Advisor app, the last step is to go to "Settings" on your Windows Phone, then go to the "Phone Update" selection to check again for the Windows 10 Mobile update. You should be able to start downloading the upgrade if it's ready.
By the way, there are actually two separate downloads. One will update the device to build 10586.107. When that download is installed, check for another update for the final Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.164
