Ideally Microsoft should provide 4g update for 640 XL phone as both 640 XL and 640 XL LTE versions were released on same date however in India only 640 XL versions were made available. Not providing 4G update for 640 XL and making 4G available only in 640 XL LTE version will not be good consumer and market practice. They should give option to consumers to either choose to update or buy a new phone.

Microsoft only Commented about Windows 10 Update which will be provided to 640 Phones.
"The following Lumia smartphones will receive a free upgrade when available: Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930."
"While we're working hard to make Windows 10 available for other Lumia devices, the following is a first list of Lumia smartphones that will receive a free upgrade when available: Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930. Features may vary by device. 8 GB of internal memory required."

AS, 10 Sep 2015really microsoft will provide 4G update for 640xl phone? is... moreMicrosoft had released the 4G-LTE update for eight of its Lumia smartphones, namely - Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320, Lumia 1020, Lumia 930, Lumia 925, Lumia 920, Lumia 830, and Lumia 625.
since Microsoft India is going to release the LTE Versions Phones of 640 xl/non xl,
why would they provide any Software update for it?
There is no any such Information that 640 xl/non xl will get any LTE update.
(No such Official announcement made by Microsoft yet.)

Microsoft as of the moment has only one dual-band 4G device, which is the Lumia 638. Through software updates, 4G capability was finally enabled for some of its smartphones, but these handsets only support the FDD-LTE band. The upcoming phones will support both 4G bands, TDD and FDD, which will reputedly be utilized by Indian carriers Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm.
In fact, according to Ajey Mehta, the manager of Microsoft Mobile in India, the new phones will support all forms of 4G in the country. They are also looking into the release of a 4G LTE version of the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. Lastly, a release of a slew of Microsoft apps and services is in the works as well.

After using 640 XL for complete three months.I can say it's a great product no issues till date every specs work flawlessly.Proximity Sensor,Magnometer ,Ambient light Sensor all sensor are doing a good job.Battery backup still solid.Camera capture a decent picks.I can't lie If the product is good and working perfectly then why should I say any thing wrong about the product.Well done Microsoft keep it up.
