Metal actually has a higher chance of damaging the inner workings of the phone since it is alot harder than polycarbonates. It doesn't absorb as much chock impact and thus the items inside has to take more of the hit.
You are lucky that your phone didn't break, but the metal didn't help. It would have been safer if it was created in polycarbonate.

I can buy a steel cover on eBay for any phone. My point is that that sense of security is now suddenly going to cost you more. That's ridiculous.

This Lumia looks like a Xiomi or another popular Androids. Lumia 930 or even 925 a lot more distinctive and sleek.

Compared to the Lumia 930, I don't see why it's in the same series. They discontinued the steel edge (which saved my 930 two times by catching the fall on concrete perfectly) and I am really put off by the edges around the screen. They should have integrated the Back/Windows/Search button in the edge like they did in the 930. I also do not find the look of the camera appealing on the 950, and the 950XL has the old Nokia camera design. Other than the added microSD slot, I don't see any real improvements to wow us more than the 930 did. Pity... :(

happy that Microsoft is learning from nokia..
the phone looks great with awesome features and hardware.
iam def buying the 950 in white to replace my lumia 1020.
the after market cover by mozo of red and gold is awesome will def buy that. will still keep 1020 as back up phone
the 950 comes with living images 3rd gen which apple copied...I saw the camera samples..they are mind blowing...camera is fast and how

GSMArena guys please post the complete change log of windows 10 for phones.
Hardware wise only missing feature is capacitive navigation buttons.. Otherwise a complete mobile for my requirements.. Hope the Battery performance would be like Lumia 1520.
