Though I am using Lumia range phones since quite long, this model is the worst ever as far as battery back up is concerned. I hv updated the applications recently and expected some improvement but in vain. Regret a lot to hv purchased this model. The same range android phones are quite better.

Believe me or not its upto you. But deep down you and I both know that, there is no progress in lumia. I'm talking about OS and Apps.
For your first admiration about Facebook, Yes I know there are 2 apps. One from Microsoft and 1 from Facebook itself. And talking about the Microsoft version, its out dated and slow. And the Facebook version is laggy and crashes alot. And fyi there were 3 fb apps. 2 from Microsoft and 1 from Facebook. Facebook, Facebook Beta by Microsoft and Facebook by Facebook (till recently it was too called as Facebook beta).
And yes I know about Instagram and 6tag, no need to tell me about those as well. And when was the last time you got and update for those 2 apps.
There are 2 whatsapp apps as well. Whatsapp and Whatsapp beta.
I owed high end androids. So don't tell me about the quality of lumia apps.
Whether its 950xl/640xl the only difference is the specs. There are no separate versions of apps for 950xl and 640xl.
I think you are the one who should grow up and get a life. You are one loyal customer of lumia. Thats why you don't like to accept the criticism, truth and reality.
I don't care whether you buy lumia for the rest of your life but I do care about people who spend hard earn money on phones. And I don't expect you to agree with me since different ppl have different opinions and I respect that and you should too as a grown up mature human being.
This is my last comment and here after I wont reply to your fanatic and delusional replies. So rather questioning whether I owe a lumia or not, just accept the reality and move on.

Here is a tip I want to share with people whose 950(xl) still heat-up and thereby drain out the battery juice.
Whenever you have an update that is probably pending your connection to WIFI, the device tends to heat.
Here is what to do. Connect to wifi and update your phone, save all apps to the device memory (not the SD card), go to windows store check for update of your apps and update the ones available (you can do this often), update your map (wifi connection may be required). Always ensure your device and your apps are up to date.
Your device temperature will magically improve and battery status will positively amaze you (especially when you're on standby, for over three hours you'll hardly lose a percentage of your battery).

the anniversary update has made this phone even better..... its smooth and has more features added.... we get the "redstone threshold 2" early next year which adds even more features.....

There two Facebook app on windows store, the one by Microsoft which synchronizes your contact to people hub, then the recent one is the official app from facebook. They are both nice, fast and they never crash as you have claimed.
There are equally two apps for Instagram, one is called 6tag which allows you to save pictures and videos directly to your device, the second is the official Instagram app itself. All these apps are very fast, they receive frequent updates and never crash, the two apps you just mention behave better in Windows phones than in any other os (oh I wish you truly have a Lumia, then you can see for yourself).
Hey in this forum we are not talking about Lumia 640xl we are talking about Lumia 950xl, we are not talking about the insider preview, we are talking about official release.
Stop trolling and do something better with your life.

They have no resale/2nd hand val... morearrr, you just stated that you are in the "insider program" on the fast ring, thus its going to have a lot of bugs as it is unfinished software.... the official software is not buggy like you state.... insider fast/slow are going to be very buggy.... ITS EXPERIMENTAL SOFTWARE, it is going to be filled with bugs, thus is not meant to be on your daily driver... Microsoft state this before you "go into the insider program".

Do not buy lumia products. They have no resale/2nd hand value. Currently Im using a 640xl dual sim phone. And Im a fast insider. The OS sucks big time coz its not stable. The major apps rarely gets an update. Therefor the apps are not stable. Crashes when you use for more than 1 minute. Ex- Facebook and Instagram. They are far behind compared to the IOS and Android versions. If you have money to waste buy lumia products. Go for an Iphone if you have enough cash if not for an android.

Got my device 2 weeks back. Gorgeous display. Call quality is great. Speakers are ok. Even though it is 5.7 incher it doesn't feel so while handling it. App gap is there, but I managed to find almost all the apps I wanted by a little digging. Today I got my anniversary update. Edge is fast. I didn't notice any excessive heating in my device. Tap to wakeup also has come to 950xl. I am happy with my fone
