Microsoft Store discounts Mixed Reality Headsets by up to $200

AR and VR keep getting cheaper and cheaper. The latest discount is applied to the Mixed Reality Headsets by a variety of makers and with a wide spectrum of features.

The Acer and Lenovo headsets cost $200 (both down from $400). Both feature 1440p (square) displays, 2.89” in size with 105° field of view and 90Hz refresh rate.

The HP headset is $250 with Similar specs. The Dell Visor is also $250, but the Microsoft Store currently shows it as out of stock.

Finally, the Samsung Odyssey costs a good deal more - $450 – but upgrades to AMOLED displays with 2,880 x 1,600px resolution (110° FoV, 90Hz refresh). The headset has integrated AKG headphones and a dual mic system, the others leave it to you to provide audio and mics.

Don't get it, unless you are going to be using a eGPU. Most Yoga 720's come with an Intel Iris iGPU, and its too weak. And even the highest-end GTX 1050 are not that powerful, and sort of too weak for VR/AR. Connecting externalGPU from a ban...
