More specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE duo appear online, will skip OLED panels

Samsung is expected to announce a raft of Fan Edition devices soon, including the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone, Galaxy Buds FE audio wearables, and two tablets - Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+. More specs on the slate duo appeared now surfaced and it's not necessarily good news.

According to WinFuture, the big displays will be LCD and not OLED. Also, only the Plus variant will reportedly support S Pen input.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE & Tab S9 FE+

The panel of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE should be 10.9” with a resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels, which is a 16:10 ratio. The Tab S9 FE+ should come with a 12.4” display and 2560 x 1600 resolution, which is the same ratio as the smaller device.

The source also states the chipset will not be a Snapdragon platform, and we already spotted the devices with the Exynos 1380 chip - this is a significant downgrade from the flagship SoC on the premium Tab S9 trio.

Each tablet will get two memory options. The vanilla option will come with either 6/128 GB or 8/256 GB, while the Plus will be offered with 8/128 GB or 12/256 GB. All variants will have a micro SD slot for up to 1 TB more storage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE & Tab S9 FE+

The devices should be IP68-certified and have 12 MP selfie cameras, likely the same on the proper Tab S9 lineup. The small FE will have one 8 MP shooter on the back, while the Plus will have two cameras, but we don’t believe it is a practical idea to take pictures with a device that is 30-something centimeters big.

We already expect the tablets to be quite expensive compared with the Tab S7 FE series. The Tab S9 FE will likely start from €529, while the Tab S9 FE+ should have a €699 starting price, and that is for the Wi-Fi-only options. Tablets with 5G support are likely to be €100 more.

All questions will be answered next month when the launch is expected to take place. Samsung is yet to schedule a launch date officially.
