Moto G8 Play starts receiving Android 10
Motorola has begun seeding the Android 10 firmware to the Moto G8 Play in Brazil. The firmware, QMD30.47-19, is the same Android 10 that Motorola pushed to the One Macro in India a few weeks ago and is about 1.46GB in size.
Android 10 brings along a number of improvements. It enables gesture navigation, dark theme, improved navigation panel and, in this case, the December 2020 security patch.
We haven't had reports of Moto G8 Play devices outside of Brazil receiving the update, but if you have the device, do check in your software update menu to see if the OTA has arrived for you.

They did a mistake with with G8 series. G8 Plus and G8 Play were running on Android 9, but G8 Power and G8, G Pro were running Android 10

When Android 12 Beta builds are in process, it's laughable that some device has moved from Android 9 to Android 10 This should have been given a year ago

Lenovo and Moto need to chill. Releasing Android 10 too early, pretty sure it has some bugs.
