Moto G 5G 2025 gets an extra camera, leaked renders show

The Moto G 5G 2024 launched back in March, and Motorola is, of course, already working on its successor. The Moto G 5G 2025 has now been leaked in CAD-based renders, and immediately we see what could potentially be a huge upgrade: a third camera on the rear.

That said, before you get all excited about it, keep in mind that this might just be a 2 MP depth sensor, there to make the phone look more high-end than it actually is. 2024's model had a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP macro camera, so it's not like Motorola hasn't pulled something like this in the past. Naturally, we're hoping to get at least an 8 MP ultrawide, but only time will tell.

Like its predecessor, the upcoming phone has a flat display, a thick bottom bezel, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It adds a more squarish camera island which grew in size in order to accommodate the third sensor.

The Moto G 5G 2025 allegedly has a 6.6-inch screen just like the 2024 variant. The new device measures 167.2 x 76.4 x 8.17 mm (9.6 mm at the camera bump). That makes it marginally taller and wider than its predecessor, despite having the same display size, which is a little bit intriguing but probably won't be noticed unless you have them both side-by-side.

If Motorola sticks with the same release cadence as before, then expect this model to go official in March.

Agreed, the commentators either should stick to the handful of devices offered with those features, or stick to their current phone. I have no issues with using a 7-year-old phone nowadays, so they should look for other alternatives, current or older...

I think a metal frame would have suited this

To call that exploitation of capitalism is ridiculous. It's just the market, rightly or wrongly, moving in a certain direction because of a lack of demand for headphone jacks and microSD card slots. I've been using an adapter for the last 2...
