It's unclear what it will be used for, however.

The bottom bezel looks a lot thicker than the 2024 Moto G 5G.

Darth Caesium, 17 hours agoTo call that exploitation of capitalism is ridiculous. It&#... moreAgreed, the commentators either should stick to the handful of devices offered with those features, or stick to their current phone. I have no issues with using a 7-year-old phone nowadays, so they should look for other alternatives, current or older but not obsolete, that serve the purpose well.

Same applies to LCD displays as well. If Nokia's phones that had targeted the PWM-sensitive demographic with their X10, X20, XR20, XR21 and other lower end phones, had to move on from LCD displays, either due to lack of demand or people not keen on looking for alternatives, then it's simply a waste of time and energy for commentators to complain, when alternatives are readily available. A phone that's just a few years old isn't worse compared to today's phones, if not, better at certain aspects overall.

I think a metal frame would have suited this

It's just the market, rightly or wrongly, moving in a certain direction because of a lack of demand for headphone jacks and microSD card slots. I've been using an adapter for the last 2 years so that I can use my wired IEMs, and I've moved on from being bitter about the loss of my beloved headphone jack.

                S21 Ultra?

Darth Caesium, 25 Nov 2024Look. I would love to see headphone jacks and microSD card ... moreGoogle is just too dumb, or lazy, to make Android work with microsd cards. Or they're just afraid no one will but higher storage variant since 128gb/256gb with expansions will always be better than fixed ones as users will just reuse their cards.
They have no excuse other than that since we have Rog Ally X and Switch able to use microsd card for gaming. It's also a lost opportuniy to make the likes of Redmagic and Legion tabs/devices as emulation powerhouse when you can cram decades worths of games and other media in the cards.

Betting Moto finally starts using pulltabs for batteries in 2025 models instead of glued down requiring the use of isopropyl alcohol.

Darth Caesium, 25 Nov 2024Look. I would love to see headphone jacks and microSD card ... moreTell us you are willing to be exploited by capitalism, without telling us you are willing to be exploited by capitalism.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2024'3.5mm headphone jack' Wait what? Where? You&#... moreLook. I would love to see headphone jacks and microSD card slots as standard features on phones, but that ship has unfortunately sailed a long time ago.

If you stopped there, I would've considered you to be reasonable, but for you to then claim that an IPS LCD is essential for a phone is ridiculous. I get it, you suffer from PWM flickering, and I myself am a little sensitive to it too, but that shouldn't mean the entire market bends over and provides what is an inferior product in every other way just for you. If anything, you should want DC dimming or at least extremely high PWM dimming rates on OLED screens as a standard feature instead. I know I do.

Almost nobody uses an FM radio anymore, so that would be one hell of a niche feature for a phone. You're more likely to see it in a car than a phone, because it makes more sense there.

IR blasters still exist on phones, but you can't expect a low-end phone to have one when it's a fairly niche feature and said phone is on a tight budget.

Nice, though I'd rather they improve the selfie camera instead of adding another camera if it meant one or the other. Still, Motorola's great with the low-end (as well as the upper-mid-to-high-end, but really not great with the lower-mid-end).

                              '3.5mm headphone jack'

Wait what? Where? You've got my attention.
Does it come with an amazing IPS LCD screen with a whopping 180° viewing angle?
How about the SD card slot?
                              FM radio?
                              IR blaster?

I consider all of those features essential and any smartphone should have these required features or else it ain't a smart phone.

I haven't leaked this yet, but it isn't a camera - it's next gen tech that is the beginning of smell-o-vision. A scent sensor, not a camera, that capture the scene's aroma and transmits that to the recipient. Smell grandma's hams from 1000 miles away, like you were there !
