Moto M benchmarked with a smaller display

Enrique, 04 July 2017

The Moto M (XT1662) was released for the Indian market late-last year with a MediaTek Helio P15, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.5-inch display. A little over halfway through the year of its availability, the same XT1662 model has been spotted on GFX Bench with a smaller 4.6-inch display.

The smaller display isn’t the only thing in the purported spec sheet that has changed over the current Moto M. There are also 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB, and there are two CPU variants mentioned in the benchmark. This device is powered by either a MediaTek MT6755 (Helio P10) or a MediaTek MT6755T (Helio P15).

There are a couple of possibilities here, Motorola could be testing a new smartphone based on the current Moto M (hence the same model number), or Motorola could be preparing a new variant or sequel of the Moto M for markets outside of India.

Other specs include a 16MP camera capable of 4K video, an 8MP selfie camera, and 32GB of internal storage.

Hopefully this will come alongside a moto x4 mini with sd660. Retain the ergonomics of the older motos!
