(A1200) i need to know how do u cut the call if the flip is colsed...?the side buttons will only cut the vibration off but not the call...
and the software provided by motorola doesnot convert axxo.avi files why is that...?

I have a problem with my A1200 and I hope someone can help. The problem is he phone will keep shutting down on it's own. We checked the battery and I was advised that the phone needed to have the software flashed. I called Motorola and because the phone is not offered here Motorola USA said I would have to get it fixed outside the USA. They could not even tell me where. PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

@ashley restart ur a1200 when the pc tool is asking you is detecting ur a1200 (sometimes is bcos of ur usb connector thx)

I thought the worst phone I ever bought was the Samsung SGH-P300 credit card phone. But since I bought the Motorola A1200 Ming, I honestly think this takes takes the prize of worst phone I ever owned. I bought this phone because of Linux, but the Windows Mobile users must be laughing at this attempt.
Take the flip lid. I can't open it. No matter how hard I try when the phone rings, I can not open the lid. How the designers came up cover and no way to grasp it is beyond me. There are 2 small notches in the side of the phone that will allow either a lady, or man, with long finger nails to use their finger nails to lift the cover. But for the rest of us, it's a pain.
Next take the software: It is the worst software ever. Phonebook has one single field for storing a name and a telephone number. Want a redial list, forget it, it remembers the only the last single number dialled. Want ascending ring, forget it. Want different profiles, forget it. The list goes on and on and on of basic features missing that makes using a mobile phone easier, or features that are 3 or 4 menus deep to access that it just drives you nuts.
Can I have my money back please!!!

go to settings and check your USB mode, make sure its set to Modem mode if you're using MPT to transfer. Or alternatively if you're doing a direct transfer, check that ur USB mode has already been changed to Mass storage.

Did you run the live update for your MPT? cos if its an older version the drivers won't be on the disk that comes along with the phone. also u might wanna ensure that u're using WinXP with service pack 2... if u're on service pack 1.. go dld sp2 off microsoft and try again. shld be no problems after that.. and also try to switch ur USB port as well if you're still unable to detect.
