Just bought this Ming phone in Hong Kong. Its very slick and got a great look going for it.

I get a 'memory full' error when I try to transfer song files to it via bluetooth, though. Any work around for that? I've got a 512 MB Transflash in it, so I'm sure there's plenty of empty space there.

Also havent managed to get the bluetooth sync working yet.

I just got my MING phone from Hong Kong and now trying to use it in US with Cinuglar. It can place & receive calls but I cannot get it to sync with my computer (WinXP) if I live depends on it!!! I've uninstalled/installed numerous times, used bluetooth / data cable and it keeps giving me the message that "Communication port unavailable" and when I look into the "modem exchange" under "view" it looks like it's constantly trying to get a hook up on the modem on the phone & seems like that was what caused the problem. Anyone have any idea how I can solve this? Called Motorola tech support - they're useless, told me that there's no tech support for this phone!! THANKS.

                      Herm.. anyone??
I am deployed in Iraq, i want to get either the A780 or the A1200. I would like some feedback.. I need good reception, decent voice- loud enough to hear outside, and the pda function for information and contacts, and a camera that takes acceptable images for when i forget my camera.. yes a tough order, but this is a tough place.. and i want to sync to my mac.. windows units dont hold up.
                      Any input will be appreciated..thanks

The 8mb of memory is really my only gripe as well. I have not filled it up yet, but I created a group in outlook for the contacts I want to put on my phone. Dont need to download the entire 1200 people that is in our shared contact list at work.

Overall it is working fine. I bought it so that I can keep up with important email, have all my office docs and pdf files handy while I am at the factories. I can easily be out all day at the factory without having to haul my laptop around incase I want to look at a spreadsheet or check in on email. For that it works just fine.

8MB of internal memory is to small to hold all my Outlook contacts, Calendar and Task data and there is no possibility to save them on the SD card. For a phone who has the great feature of business card reader (which works!). This phone with 32MB internal memory would definitely be one of the best! Overall I am really disappointed.

I am planning on buying an A1200 while I am in Taiwan.

I am not as understanding of the technology as I want to be, so I ask the following question:

Will developers be able to develop software so that I can use a Bluetooth keyboard to type into notepad?

I was thinking of something simple to use like this for a very long time. The most practical use I can think of is to
                            take notes during class.

                            Can anyone let me know?

                            Thanks,

                            -Roger

On the home screen, china mobile locks a couple of the shortcuts, so I can only change two of them. The China Mobile and Monternet ones cannot be changed the same way that the other two can be changed. Anyone know a way around the software that would allow me to change these?

                                    Pasha,
It is not true that any tri-band phone will work. If you are saying that the new towers are 850, you may have a problem with an Asian version of some tri-band phones. The Asian versions of tri-band is usually 900/1800/1900, so you do not get the 850 band and may have problems. Definately the quad-band is the way to go if you travel alot like me. Then you get 850/900/1800/1900, which pretty much covers all the GSM bands worldwide.

Okay...call me an idiot, but does anyone know how to increase and decrease the earpiece volume when on a call?

When I answer or place a call the speaker volume is low and I have no idea how to adjust it.

I tried the volume toggle of the left hand side, but that doesnt work.

                                      Please help!

                                      Thanks,
                                      RZS
