Hi- This has been incredibly helpful to me in setting up pretty much everything that I didn't randomly figure out myself. Thanks to everyone. The only thing so far that I haven't found is how to hook up to my hotmail account! Is there anyone who can tell me where in the phone to go and what to type in? Thanks

Kreeger,
I got my internet to work fine using the directions i found here, the only thing i can think of is that you dont have your gprs enabled or something. I am NOT an expert, but i do know that the directions worked very well for me.
To the other guy with the memory card problem, you need to switch your phone to mass storage device and load whatever you want on there. I have a 512meg transflash card and i here rumors of a 1 gig.

I had initially read through ALL of the pages and found that same info on page 16 or 17... so I tried to set up my internet using those settings. I have the subscription to MEdia Net and the browser does not work with those settings. Is there anything I might be doing wrong? Creating/using a profile?
Thanks.

Kreeger,
I have found alot of good stuff on this site, like alot of places you need to read, read, read i have the same phone and it works great, here is what i think you need, it was posted before and I am just pasting it for you.
Cingular Settings (you need to set your internet network profile first; see cingular settings in previous posting)
for MMS do as follows:
1. Goto Message Main Page
2. Open Menu
3. Service Setup
4. Multimedia Message
5. Edit a new Profile with the following setting
Profile Name:
Cingular
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com (use the ip address instead 66.102.171.150)
Network Profile:
(your network profile)
Wap Gateway IP:
66.209.11.61
Port Number:
9201
Wap Gateway IP(2):
0.0.0.0
Port Number:
0
6. Expire After: Maximum
7. Max Sending Size: 200k
8. Check Auto download
9. DON'T Check not when roaming (because when you use a non-Cingular phone system will think you are always ROAMING)
email:
Maibox Name: Anything you'd like
Send Setup:
Server:66.102.164.222 (cwmx.com)
Port: 25
email: username@mycingular.com
NickName: I guess, if you would like to change the default email address on your message
Authentication:On
Same as receive Setup (if you are using the same server to receive check this otherwise uncheck and put your credentials.
Receive Setup: Same approach. the most import thing is to use IP Address instead of server name

Herm (or anyone),
I am in the ATL also... could you do me a HUGE favor and post or email me with the exact settings for Cingular with step-by-step instructions? I have a MEdia Net subscription and I used the settings that you posted before... maybe I am doing something wrong, but it is not working. I took it to a Cingular outlet and the techs were lost.
I really know nothing about what a POP is for email, or even how to get the settings. Please help!

alsa, i have the internet working just fine, and would like to know more about any possible remote desktop use, i.e.;, can i access my desktop from anywhere, using this phone..i got it from ebak, and i believe it was the hong kong version. Ive figured out how to add ringers and such, but also, im not a linux user, i only know how to use windows, so is it possible to use windows mobile on this phone? it might sound stupid, but it would make my life easier, thanks to anyone in advance.

Michael,
In real player you can save add to add multiple songs to your playlist and you can save about 50 songs per playlist on the version I have. Obviously, you can have multiple playlists.

Michael,
I take that you don't have the phone yet. Real Player is one of the home screen icon or you can locate it under Multimedia by clicking the application launcher (top Left). Once you connect your phone to a computer (I have tried it in w2k and XP) the phone acts as a usb drive, you can copy files to your transflash card or the phone predefined folders (or you can create your own) then in Realplayer you go to open file and you add the media from the folder(s).
