Feature wise this phone is awesome. Havnt seen so many features in a single phone before. You name it and Motorola A920/925 has it.
But size and weight is quite abnormal. Battery time is less than the time of a man's penis errection. If you use it heavily the battery wont last even 24 hours. That why you get 2 batteries when you buy the phone so that you can have a charged spare battery when you are not at home.

The Motorola A920 is loaded with features. It's got the most intuitive UI of any phones I've used. Any improvement would be done by polishing those a bit rather than adding new features, it already does everything. These days, get the slightly improved A925 instead or if you get a really good deal on the A920, get the OS upgreaded which makes it just about an A925 equivalent.
Here is a wish list, where it could be improved: smaller, more battery time, protection for screen, easier use as a plain "one handed" phone (keypad!), better reception, camera posions/angles. I guess these and more will happen with the next model, anyway.

This phone has dropped in price enormously, I bought it (we've got 2 in the family) for AU$459 and that was the upfront price, not installments to pay off.
As far as the A920 goes, it's typical of 1st generation (3G) technology. It's big, bulky, has limited battery life and has limited features... Hang on, Motorola went one better and it does actually have all the features you can think of/want to have. It's a shame then, that with the original release for the Three network, they crippled the phone and blocked some features. At least now (I'm in Oz), you can pay $33 (grumble-grumble) for an upgrade which enables bluetooth and frees up some restrictions in the OS.
Pros: Loads of features, good handwriting recognition (says somebody with a shocking handwriting), large screen (compared to other similar phones), reasonable quality pics.
Cons: Big, no inbuilt screen protection, no belt clip for the included protective pouch (what, they saved 50 cents?!) and suspected weak reception (OK, the Three coverage is patchy, but even when other 3G phones [NEC] do OK, the A920 struggles). Oh, and shortish battery life. When I saw 2 batteries and 2 chargers in the pack, that was kid of ominous...
So, if you are keen to get a 3G phone, the A920 now has the features and screen resolution that makes it move out of the gadget range and actually becomes usable. I said, if you are keen, because if you want something which is neat, small and truely useful, you may want to hold back until the next generation of the phone. Considering how decent job they've done with the A920, you can expect a great second generation 3G phone from Motorola in a year or so. I don't mean the A925, that's what the A920 should've been in the first place.

In Sweden the phone contains irda and bluetooth hardware, but they are not activated in the firmware. The phone are locked to 3G-provider and Motorola refuses to help out. But the battery time are terrible, (not in the range of specs. from Motorola). It looks like it lasts longer in the 2G-net, which indicates that it's the 3G-services that shortens the standby-time. But it's big and very heavy,if you compare with Ericsson p900. The phone are also very slow when starting up and changing net.
A bigger battery should be released soon, but it's much bigger, so you have to replace your back-cover.
I recommend you to wait for a while for the next generation of 3G-phones, also because many of the services in the 3G-system works lousy or are not implemented yet.

well the guys who are complaining about the weight they better consider it as a PDA instead of a mobile phone..
