I guess, people can't pick this phone apart except for the camera. 5 mp camera still can take good pictures.
If you all hate this phone so much because of the camera, go look for another phone.

I Am An Iphone 4 Owner And When I Tell You I Love My Phone, I Really Really Mean it. Never Did I See Myself Leaving Apple For Any Phone (let alone an android device released every week) But This Phone... This Is Extrodinary. It MIGHT Make Me A Convert.

everyone who smart enough to buy atrix will know that they will not use it as a primary camera to take photograph picture.smart people will always choose DLSR or digicam before putting their phone to capture the precious moment.
smartphone was created to do many things and step by step it will be our personal mini computer on our palm.
if u think 5mp have bad quality picture?than just go buy that 12mp monster.but dont expect it will be a smartphone lol
everybody knows it since the first iphone came to this world.that keypad OS just a big lies.
only poor OS company who always brag about the camera mega pixel,they try to rules the world of mobile phone with simply putting more and more megapixel and hoping the customer will be loyal and dumb.
putting more MP doesnt make the phone smarter,put it in a good OS and fast CPU+GPU and big RAM that the real smart.
thats why the poor OS company market share keep droping.how the 12MP help them?
no body want it,because everybody awake now.

Where did you come up with that non sense. Thats totally untrue. I dont know why would you say nonsense like that. Well since you said it like that I guess Motorola doesnt need a high mp for their next batch of beta phones with secondary cameras because YOU just said they need to draw in buyers. Thats what you just said.

santanu, 23 Jan 2011i just want to say that motorola is still kacking in two is... moregood spec SMARTphone like atrix doesnt need high mp camera.most of smartphone users know this is not a dedicated camera and they buy it not because they want to show off the picture to their friends.
only a phone that not smart enough need high mp camera to draw buyers.if u happy with 12mp written under the back cover than buy it.
megapixel camera battle is the only good thing for the company that cannot win in smartphone OS battle.

Yes i agree with jason on small sensor, higher megapixel doesnt make a picture look better. Even my old se K800i is good enough to print in A3 size...

Agree with Jason, along that line, in general, ppl use cellphone camera to post pic on the web which doesn't require that high resolutions. Serious digital photograhpers would not use this type of cellphone camera to capture pics.

MP only tell you the size of the image and not always the quality of the image. The sensor ability to convert light into digital code is what gives you picture quality. Ever wonder why some camera's of same MP produce different quality?

To the other reader who said they wanted a higher MP camera - you should keep in mind MP doesn't tell you picture quality. You can easily get a 3MP camera that has better image quality than a 12MP camera.
My 10 year old Nikon CP995 was 3.2 MP, and it still outclasses any camera phone today.
This is why many people ask for a camera that takes better photos than the iPhone 4's 5MP. Getting 12MP images just means larger images.
