100 Moto, 29 Oct 2008BTW, I'm the one who has been paying big bucks to Moto, not... more

There. That's where the root of the problem is. You are TOO OBSESSED with Moto that any comment, be it a comment meant to make Moto as good in functional competitiveness value as other phone maker, you felt it as an insult to yourself. And you went abusive and lashing everyone who did. That's wrong. Be open-minded, dude.

I've been a Moto fan. My first phone and half of the total phones I used to use were Moto's.
Moto is known for its stylish designs. I agree with that. But functionally, more than half of the people in this comment felt Moto lacks.

I don't hate Moto but just wish it will be more alert in keeping up with CURRENT trend. "That's all..." (say it like Meryl Streep did in 'The Devil Wears Prada') ;)

Design of the V70 looked georgeous...I brought 2 at the time - 1 with blue keypad & the other 1 with light green keypad,(did not pick the white one). One negative aspect of the V70 is the stick out ring around the screen, which was uncomfortable pressing against the face when talking!

This MotoAura look excellent (not in the picture provided by GSMArena; but in You Tube video).

I'm planning to buy one. The only problem for me is that the phone do not come with 3G, as I travel quite a lot to Japan (for business & pleasure). As a matter of fact, I just got home from Japan 3 days ago.

I brought with me this time a 8800 Arte & a Moto V9. Both phones have good sound quality but the 8800 is louder (on both side). V9 camera quality is definately better, especially at night. I do not care what megapixel, I only care about the outcome!
Not just the camera, but in all other respect too, V9 is much faster acting than the 8800...expect maybe for dialling numbers or typing message because flat keypad do suffer this problem! Anyway, Nokia phones are more user friendly for typing message.

A great design build into the 8800 Arte is the call divert feature which save all the numbers that you had diverted before so the next time when you do it again, you just have to pick from the list without typing the number again.

I really wish that Motorola will make a 3G version of this Aura! I'm sure they will sell a lot more...just like the V8 (no 3G) & V9 (3.5G).

Look at the Prada phone (I used to have one). LG is producing a new 3G version of the old design & they are selling very well in Japan (Japanese people are quite fond of the design). Btw, iPhone is not selling well in Japan (I was told by the iPhone sales who came to Japan from America, at the SoftBank mobile phone shop). SoftBank is the exclusive agent for iPhone in Japan.

I dont like Motorolla user interference, but thats my opinion. But the thing is, why shouldn't they re-use the design? Rember the V70??? Everybody as AMAZED by its inovation. So, why not bring it back? I think it looks georgeous. I will admit some of its features are a bit older, but it doesnt matter, because its more of a fashion phone! Its georgeous!

Chances are for those who commented "too expensive" are NOT likely the targeted customers of this phone.

Chances are for those who can afford USD$2000 for a phone, they spend USD$2000 like USD$2 for most others, if not even USD$0.20, and to them US$2000 is NOT expensive by any means, as they should have plenty of other items...like branded bags, watches, etc...costing much much more.

For those in the targeted segment, the only comment they would make is "the phone is beautiful/ugly". If they like the phone on Day 1 and hate it on Day 2, they can easily afford to throw the phone into the garbage can.

Last things the targeted customers really care on a phone are if the phone runs on 3G with Wifi, GPS, 16GB memory, A2DP, HSDPA, 3.5mm jack, etc...

All they care is if the phone LOOKS beautiful or not in their eyes, just that simple.

So any further discussion about this phone's "function" will be meaningless...and whether or not the phone is "beautiful" is TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE.

Look at the size of it, it's tiny about the same size as the v70 just right for a small purse or pocket.

I used to use my V70 for exactly that reason, I'd swap my usual phone when going out because it was small and unobtrusive.

Who wants to hit the dance floor with a brick in your pocket.

It also had the best call quality of almost any phone I've ever used.

Being a 2G phone means it doesn't need the same power as a 3G phone so the battery life will be good.

They just took a v70, put some shiny on, updated the wallpapers. This is not innovative, it's renovative. You can now see a clear pattern that the designers att Moto are under ice. When they are not busy copying ericsson phones, they take time to put new skins on old models.
I know deep inside moto can do better than this, it's just heartbreaking to see what they have been up to the past 2 years.

(including 1 for my mom, 1 for my father-in-law, and one for my wife)

                            Wish Moto can hire me...

Yeah, all my grandpas are reading Blogs elsewhere outside of this planet...

Two of my grandmas are still alive, and I wish both of them can use the internet....because one is mentally ill and the other one is physically disabled.

Of course neither would need an Aura either, but a 3G phone with v-call capability would probably help.

Yeah, Moto does always have the nicest design. Infact, I used to use V3xx. Love it to death. But just like Rolex - high in price but nothing much to shout about... Looking forward for more REALLY WORTH Moto in the future...

I will just give points to the phone, like a read in other opinions, remember this is a fashion phone:

Design: 10 (innovative and interesting design, high resolution display, great keypad, rare but nice swivel mechanism, just 10 points!)

Features: 7 (good features for a fsahion phone, it lacks many things but is reasonable.... fashion phone look for design to catch their buyers not the features... maybe the camera needs autofocus at least and a flash...)

Performance: 5 (i think the 810 mah battery isn't good for this phone.. but only the people who buy this phone will know)

I cant stand why it's so expensive, finally its a very simple phone , motorola its not a good brand about performance, but this is an extreme!!!
