Motorola confirms next Razr will have Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
Motorola brought the Razr brand back to life several years ago, and the foldable smartphone has had two iterations so far. None of them were powered by a flagship chipset, but a company executive revealed this is about to change.
A brand manager of Motorola shared a teaser on his own Weibo page, revealing the new Moto Razr will run on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
The first smart Moto Razr arrived in late 2019. Back then Motorola told us that having a flagship chipset is not a top priority among foldable users, and that’s why HQ decided against the idea.
Three years later, the mood is shifting and we expect the 2022 Razr to run the freshly announced chipset that is 30% more efficient than the current flagship SoC. Latest rumors suggested the new phone will have larger screens both on the outside and inside, and we expect the inner panel to support a 120Hz refresh rate.
