This phone has been a nightmare! STAY AWAY!
unlocked from VZ. The screen goes bonkers and starts slecting apps moving them around and or stops working....
it likes to reboot it self from time to time after screen unlock.
Worst thing is the signal. This is my second motorolla my first was the C333
since the early 2000's I have been a nokia user and NEVER EVER had a problem.
D2G Sucks period. what a mistake this phone was.
Paid 500 CDN for this POS. think i will be saef and get the iphone

Am planning to buy an android phone and am looking at Samsung Galaxy Ace or Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo or Moto Droid 2......am really confused between the two..... but i recently heard that ace is a bit slow so someone pls suggest and help me.

The DROID2G is an incredible gadget and it is much more better and faster than galaxy s..... The phone can not be bricked technologically,totally,unimmagineably and naturally. This means that the phone is a globally perfect phone with 1.2ghz ti-omap processor.

For all of you asking about the "secondary camera".. the D2G doesn't have a forward facing camera. That thing you may be seeing next to the ear speaker is the proximity sensor that turns the display off during a call. I love my D2G and have since release but my only complaint is the locked bootloader that prohibits flashing custom roms. I'm rooted, oc'd, and tweaked like mad but not having CM7 makes me sad :/. They have a beta version out BASED off of CM7 (without ports) but I'm gunna wait to flash til all bugs are worked out. IMHO if they didn't lock the bootloader.. the D2G would've been damn near perfect.

Boss, 21 Jun 2011I straight dropped this phone in the water and it STILL WOR... moremy boss dropped his unlocked droid 2 global in the pool, it stopped working so he gave it to me, now it works again :D

Plus, even so using GSM network outside US, there some problem where it can't search all GSM networks as in Malaysia. It can detect 3G of the network but not the 2G network.
I kinda regretting buying this phone as i before expecting a great signal receiver on GSM network aside the CDMA.
Just buy this phone if you in US. If you not, go to milestone 2. It's better.
1.2 ghz processor means nothing because it's slow compared to Galaxy S which only 1ghz.

Verizon has crippled the radio on this phone so that it will not worth with US Based GSM Carriers (AT&T / T-Mobile). GSM only works outside the US.

User manual is not indexed, worst manual for any device since Apple II +. Can't change 'time out', much too short and annoying, if I had realized this feature is would have purached IPhone like my wife did. To few user defined seetings. No way to post a questions to M, no direct return answers.
I love my Xoom, why can't the Droid2 global be as good?
Don't buy the 2 Global until at least these fixes have been completed. The big M did not field test enough - these items would have shown up.
How hard would it be to index all documents for all devices?
Fine someone you trust that has the 2 Global ask a lot of questions!!!!

This phone is truly amazing..indeed as it has claimed 'Droid Does' not since the reveal of the pocket pc over 10 years ago, have I been more impressed with a mobile device....almost don't need a pc anymore!..amazing...p.s...try the hoccer app.

I can use (unlocked) D2G enough in Japan by "NTT DoCoMo SIM card." I'm quite satisfied with my D2G because of its great processing speed.
The only problematic aspect is its charging battery, which I have to charge almost every day...
