Wow wish I knew after buying the phone having it shipped to dubai calling different sites to unlock paying for them which at the end did not work and then finallyngetting it unlocked costs me USD 1000. This is not to mention the countless hours I spent with verizon in the U S that were absolutely useless. They said I had to be on U S soil to have the phone initially unlocked and operational with a valid verizon contract and after 60 days they can provide me the unlock code for international use. I asked them then why did one of their representative agents sell me the phone if that was the case. They said I had to take it up with the agent. Maybe that's why everyone I know has cancelled with verizon and shifted to t mobile or AT&T .

I have to say that I have gone through a few dozen phones over the last year in the search of a perfect phone. I currently have iPhone 4, htc hd for the amazing size and clarity of the screen and the android software and the blackberry bold 9780. They are all great phones but I finally managed to get the motorola droid pro. Ordered it from the states without contract but being based in dubai it was locked. Likely I manger to unlock it and i have to say I have found the perfect phone. The speed,unbelievable services and easiness of use makes this phone superior to my other 3 phones. For everyone who love a touch screen and miss typing via a keyboard the droid pro fits the bill. I definately recommend it to anyone who is thinking about it. My only negative was the stupid way it is being marketed and monopolized by verizon. You would imagine for USD 700 with no contract the phone would be unlocked.

guys good news this beast of a phone is going worldwide alongwith the milestone 2, droid 2 global(both gsm n cdma support in a single device), droid x, moto defy. coming to india in jan 2011.. all of them ..all gsm versions.. n tht is confirmed news.. :)
