hi
i have a nokia 3660 and thinking of changing it with either a e398 or k700.
i don't have a problem with 3660 except that :
1. the image taken from the phone is not very good and e398 has flash to overcome that.
2. the video recording quality is very poor and very small. i have heard of softwares that can increase the limit of video recording but are they the proper solution.
3. the phone seems to just hang sometimes and switching off and on helps.
4. is it advisable to put third party softwares in the phone at about INR 1200/- which increase its functionality to play mp3 etc.

Hey.. i'm thinking of buying this phone, but i'm mostly interested in using it as an MP3 player.. How would you guys compare the sound quality with an normal MP3 player?

ok, sorry to bother but back to the video topic again... =( it seems that my phone is only able to play 3gp format videos. when i transfer mpeg4 videos, my phone indicates that the file is corrupted and asks to delete it when i try to play it.. is it normal? for avi on the other hand opens with media player i think (the media player icon is there in my com eventhough i changed it to quicktime)therefore my phone doesn't detect it... any clue ppl? is it normal?

              there's a con i discover 2day; it's the bluetooth.
e398 blue tooth can b enable to trf file to others but not 2 search.
i try it wt k700 n the k700 BT is more powerful it's not just able to receive it can also search into your folder n retrieve watever they want w/o u sending it 2 them.
tat's is a big flaw fr motorola BT

I do hate the design of Motorola's products but E398 is extremely beautiful! In fact it's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen! I'm talking about the Black Eyed Peas version, of course! The mix of black and silver looks wounderful! Hear me every one, lets pray to the designer! Finally...
It is also very easy in use and that's because of its interface, which is very well organised. Even the great variety of functions doesn't cause any problems. I had many phones and belive me, it's one of the most user-friendly ones.
Unfortunately there are some faults. You'll find the biggest one while trying to write an sms. There is no information about its size, I mean, you can't be sure if you're in the first, second or third one, so you don't really know how much do you pay. I know that it's shawn how many letters can you use but I would be so much happier knowing in which of the smses am I and how many smses am I sending. You know, It's all about the money, though I'm not interested in counting the leters!
Another fault, or I should say a wish, is its video player. Thats's because it needs the MP4 files(!), so you are no able to watch your AVI or MPEG files! Too bad... Next time?
As you can see, Motorola did a few small mistakes. But after all, it is a great phone which gives you many interesting options, just like the MP3 Player (Flash Memory - 64MB or 128MB) and the camera (4xZoom). And I am very very pleased with it!!!

to use PST u have to remove the memory card and install modem drivers from pst directory.
goofy, just listen to mp3 from sounds, dont use the java app for mp3 cause it sometimes doesnt recognize mp3's when u dont put them on the phone with 1 of the motorola programs

thanks a lot for the help Maical, it works. i have another problem - i put both mp3's and video files on my phone, but it can only recognize the videos. the mp3 player says that it could not find any mp3 files on the flash card. when i remove the video file(s) everything is allright and the phone plays the mp3's. i've been trying for some time to solve this problem but the only conclusion i come to is that if there are both mp3's and videos on the phone, it can play only the videos. does anybody know if it is possible to put and play both mp3 and video on the e398?
