the phone is great the flashcard works fine and the mobile tools work fine as well. i have only one problem. the phone plays videos in mp4 format, so i got mpeg4 direct maker and converted a couple of small videos to mp4 sucessufully. but when i try to play them on the phone i get the message that the file is damaged. i believe its because the files i converted have a higher bitrate that the ones that came with the phone. those had 14.7kbps, and the slower i can convert to is 16. is there anyone who played videos in the E398? if so tell my how please. the files i converted are not corrupted on the computer, i play them perfectly in quicktime

using " Quicktime Pro " you can export movies to "3GPP ( Mobile MP4 ) ",will this video file format play on the E398...???

hey im from australia i just recently got the e398 its sick but im having probs with the video player it says it supports mpeg4 videos but whenever i change my videos (avi&mpg's)by renaming them to mp4 the phone reads the video as currupt ive even tried renaming it to.3gp,.mpg,.avi,.asf but the last three there

For loading mp3 files on to the trans flash:
1) Start up mobile phone tools and connect the phone via USB or bluetooth
2) Once connection is established, open mobile explorer.
3) On the phone side of the explorer -> Go to MMC (Removable memory) option)
4) Select the appropriate directory within trans(/mobile/audio.
5) Transfer files from PC side to phone side using explorer.
It takes 4-5 minutes to transfer a 4 MB mp3 to the trans.
1) Now go to the phone menu-->
2) Go to audioplayer/sounds
3) Select Menu -> Switch storage devices ->select trans flash card
4) The transferred mp3 should figure in your list now.
A more easier way to transfer mp3 is using SD card adapter and reader.

hi,
i have a new e398 yest... the cell seems to b a gud one but the issue is while transfering the mp3 files from PC to mobile .The phone is deteced and when ever i transfer the mp3 from PC to phone it says not able to transfer sincer the data is huge. the mp3 files are aroung 3.5 mb.
After trying i was finally upload one small mp3 sone of 300kb to phone mem and not trans .Can any one u please help in uploading the mp3 files to the trans mem.

I've got a problem with display, it gone RED... Big red pixels...Can't see anything on it! Does anybody knows how to figure it out?

can anybody tell me why do the video clips i transfer to my phone turn out too small while the clubland video inbuilt in the phone is of a fairly larger size , i upload videos only in avi format . pls suggest

Hi, im from india . I bought a white E398 yesterday.However, im facing problems transferring files to the Tflash card. i tried to transfer some mp3's but even after the modem is installed, the tool says that the modem in not available. It actually worked for the time , only for 5 minutes then, this problem came up!! what do i do? anyone facing the same problem?

I just got my E398 yesterday. I was trying to transfer mp3s from my system, so i installed the mobile tools, then connected my phone. Everything worked fine till i tried to access my mp3's thru the my music tab in the mobile tools and then, the tool showed that the phone wasnt initialised. Tried to set it right by installing the modem software for the other USB ports, but the same problem is opccuring...it instals the modem, but then says the tool(the phone that appears) says that the modem isnt installed!! Has anyone faced this probelm? How do i set it right?

xenocrates, i think thats a software prob., u must bring it to the service center to reflash the memory, i had a problem also in software b4 like u if i chose a certain menu, nothing happens and return to previous menu, unfortunately for me this prob. occured on ringtone related menu so i master reset, it get worse, the bass sound is gone so i decided to bring to service center coz motorola here in phils. has a 1 yr warranty on parts and service but i got 2 yrs. XD

It's doesn't play AMR. AMR sucks! MP3 is more superior!

hey everyone. i just got the e398 a few weeks ago. all in all a good phone until today. i've encountered a problem with the software (i think). everytime i try to select "new alarm", nothing happens. it just stays there. and when you try to "exit," it won't exit. there's other problems too, but this one is major. i've master reset my phone, but the problem persist. i don't know what to do.

compared to e365 the iTap is a lil bit faster but then again not like nokia ,
