Nokia 6600 has too many problems, the display is not as good as these phones, you cant really call the mp3 player good, camera has only 2x zoom, and no place for cable support, price is not an issue with me , through a contact i can get 7610 for about 350 USD unlocked

PK >>> Symbian is an operating system, that means u can do almost anything with your phone: format memory, restart telephone, make the phone work without sim card.
U should buy Nokia 6600 because it's cheaper and u can add software to it to make it mp3 player.

I would like to rephrase, that the symbian software should provide a better alternative in the other functions.

Yeah,Maical, you're right, i am not used to both java and symbian.(I have only marginally used java before) However since i am going to buy a new phone, i want to make sure i buy the right one.
However i will use all the functions of the phone whichever it is.
The mp3 quality of the 7610 is a big nag for me, so i will buy that phone only if the symbian software provides a better alternative.
As for the technical part i allready know all the specifications as well as different problems in both the phones.
Any help on the software part, all the advantages of Symbian would be appreciated.

To play mp3 as a ringtone you have to copy the mp3 to internal memory.(You only need to copy about 30 sec thru the mobile phone tools program, as a ringtone you dont need more)
The k700/k700i has a greater amount of internal memory, agreed but you cannot play mp3 as ringtone, you have to use mp3 player separate.
With the motorola e398, you can play mp3s direct from t-flash card.
The ringtone feature is an added bonus in the e398.

Hi all, can the E398 play mp3(which stored in the T-Flash card) as ringtone?
or it(mp3) needs to be stored on the phone memory(shared internal 5MB) for it to be played as ringtone?
If the mp3 cannot be played from the T-Flash on the phone then how about SE K700 which have 40MB shared memory? If K700 can play more than 5MB of mp3 using the shared memory then I think K700 have the edge coz the T-flash is only a storage if it the phone cannot played direct from the T-Flash. what u think?

Symbian OS makes the phone a smartphone. U can;t compare Nokia7610 to Moto E398 which is a multimedia phone !!!!!
but 7610 has a lousy mp3 player and no stereo, if u r interested in mp3 quality

I have also done a bit of research on the phone about the battery life, while the battery is new, it takes a lot of time to charge, but after a few charges should come down to 2 or 2.5 hours.
And as Samuel said, their is an accessory to listen to the radio ie FM600 by motorola which can be used as a stereo headset with radio, along with handsfree.

Hi all,
I am considering buying this phone within a week or so. Could anyone tell me how to solve the following problems which i have encountered with a test run of the phone:-
1. Get more of the picture on the screen, not just the 75%
2. Is it compatible with microsoft outlook?
3. How better is Symbian OS, if it is good i will consider the Nokia 7610.
4. Although it has a still camera, Is there any software available which can make it record video, ie do it frame by frame.
5. How to store messages on the phone.

i'm a user of this model also the motorola e398, well this phone is great becoz of mp3 playing, lights, design, color and a decent VGA camera, and i dont regret buying this one. it was just happen that i have few frustration on the features on this like the phonebook(its not flexible like nokia), bluetooth(cant send short note and cant standby unlike nokia), desired ringtones needs to copy to phonememory b4 it can use as ringtone and my least concern is FM radio
