Hi, i want to know if it is possible to use a 1GB memory card on the e398 and do i have to mod the phone before using 1GB memory? Someone please help me out, thanks.

I agree with Player said, the software very not stable. My E398 always held up, need to restart by switch off. One more bad thing is the SMS space too short, sometime need 2 pages when sending SMS meaning that U will double charge by Operator.

To player;
you're right about it being a two year old phone but it does not suck at all!It still has the best sound among all phones.It's screen resolution is very satisfactory.I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it started automatically turning itself on and off and does it once in a while.This is,however, not because of the phone's software but i had messed with it's software when i bought it long time ago and added new things such as quad-band option,changing the screen display,etc. When this phone came out ,i paid$245 to have it and it had better screen resolution and stereo sound that 6230 didn't have and stereo sound&expansion slot that K700 didn't have back then.Besides E398 was still cheaper than those two phones.Comparing this phone to today's phones with newer specs. is not fair at all yet it's still better than even some brand new ones.

pls help me... my e398 the keypad jammed or some thing.
the problem: i turn on my phone,but when i wanted to key in the pin number theres nothing,no sound what so ever same goes to other buttons, except the on/off button is workable

help!!!!my phone got problem when charging..it will only switch on d phone everytime when i plugged d charger. anyone've this problem??? o know how to solve it? even if i charged it with switched on, it only displayed 'unable to charge'. other than that, this phone is good and the sound r good...

I don't recommend you all to buy this phone. This E398 released in year 2004 and can be considered as old model now. It is still not stable, it has a lot of problems, slow processing speed, software not stable, the center 5-way joystick sometimes out of control, the mp3 playback sound quality is good and it got bass. but got problems when playing mp3 from memory card, like error messages will be prompted when playing mp3 from memory card and the mp3 will stop playing. you need to restart phone to play the mp3 again. and it's procesing speed is really slow. one more thing is during incoming calls, it can't ring and vibrate at the same time. overall it is not a good buy.

Oh ya this phone's awesome in some features and lacks the shine in some. The highlight being the music,, well what to say keep a rock song with vibesync on a table and u'll feel it too.The headset supplied is superb(provides real 3d surround). Well the camera obviously dosnt go well as expected.There's no radio too!!. But the problems are while charging(i had to keep the wire straight) and the black matt on it.If It falls the matt starts coming off and the REAL problem is it is not being produced anymore.

I like this phone. Just a note to those Pinoys who bought e398 and were not satisfied, I'm looking for a 2nd hand e398 but I'll only buy it at 1,000 philippine pesos. If you guys think it really sucks, I'm sure you'll find the price good enough. Just make sure it includes the charger and usb data cable. =)

Never buy this phone, it sucks evetrything that anything can suck. the camera and the interface suck and its narly impossible to charge it, I had to put prestik on my charger to get it to work, the internet is slow and to top it all off the silver on the joystick and the black paint on the phone peels off. So i conclude, never, ever, ever buy this phone.

iv used this phn for bout a year.
this phn ROX!!
Vibe sync's sssooooo cuuulll!!! its luks are funky too.
this phns got one of THE best loudspeaker, n alos on e of the best mp3.
the bad thing's this set's SSLLooooowWWWW!!
n since its soo cheap, ppl ca easily affrd it. which means, this phn's nothing to b proud of if u carry it in ur pocket!!
btw. i didn giv up using this phn. i lost it whn i went to my hometown!!

Hi, does anyone of you face before when playing mp3 songs from transflash memory card on E398, it always shows error message like "system error", "file corrupted" when playing the mp3 half way. I've to shut down and restart the phone to play the song again. I face this problem very frequent. No problem were found if I play the mp3 in phone memory. What should I do? Please help. Thanks.

hey! this is an awesome phone!! Excellent audio quality with stereo speakers! And sounds great with the provided earphones/handsfree! the only draw back is the phones slow reaction...i mean the user interface...though the camera is VGA, it has excellent clarity....and crisp n sharp 65k display..best part is the phone's ability of producin "bass" while playin audio and also the natural sound heard through the speakers unlike the ericssons and the nokias havin too much sharpness but less bass. E398>AUDIO ADRENALINE!!!
