I wish this phone was reviewed on your site. It is one of the best in 2022. I just wonder what you think about the speaker quality and how it will score on your battery benchmark. I know the phone is not available in the US, but it is easy to get. I certainly feel like this phone is a solid all arounder but not the best for hardcore gamers in it's price class. Otherwise it is tough to beat in any category.

Using Motorola edge 30 for last 10 days. As per specifications device performance is very good, but after 14th July OTA update battery backup has reduced drastically.

Have this phone for 1 month now ... Performance is very good and battery life is amazing for a 4000mah battery.. I easily get 6 hours screen on time .
I sold my Samsung s20 FE 4G(exynos) for that which was always heating , awful charge speed and battery life and I had to do alot of customisations each time I reset the phone to get the optimum battery life which resulted in 4 hours screen on time on average although it had a bigger battery 4500mah
Conclusion , there are good phones from manufacturers other than Samsung and apple

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2022I am considering to buy this one, but I wait for Reviews re... moreHad the phone for 1 week, before returning it and exchange it with a Galaxy S21 FE. If you absolutely like stock Android then Motorola Edge 30 is a very nice model in 2022. But, software update wise is not great. Even though Motorola promises bi-monthly updates for this particular model, at the start of July I was still on 1st April security update (that means 3 months old security update). That is the main reason I return it and get the Galaxy S21 FE, for just extra 80EUR.
The Galaxy S21 FE is better phone almost in every category (performance, software update policy, camera, display, speakers, etc.). The only category Motorola is better, is in battery life.

Bottom line, if you like stock Android, I recommend this Motorola model. If not, there are better options out there at similar prices. For me, I realize that One Ui is better for my needs and I like it more.

I am considering to buy this one, but I wait for Reviews regarding battery Life...on the other hand, considering
my usage (Just calling, texting, light browsing, occasional Pics..No gaming) should last it a whole day.

But updates are still important to me. And a company that listens to its customers. Will i get that on a Moto phone?

honestly i prefer stability, and Stock UI is perfect, everything runs as it should. If you want more updates take Samsung or a Pixel.

The features i love most is peek display, you can view and interact with notifications on your lock screen, and moto gestures to open flashlight or camera. you won´t find any of that on other brands. My last phone was an Oppo Find X3 pro, i´ve choosed the Edge 20 pro as my daily driver.

But there will come a time that "quantity" will take over "quality". I could be wrong here but Motorola's track record for updates is not that great. Looking at their website it's not even clear if the Edge 30 will get monthly security updates. Just a vague statement about major OS and maintenance updates.
So, as much as I'd like a quality phone with decent or above average everything (based on your needs) updates are still important to me i.e. 2 years of major Android OS updates and 3 years of monthly/bi-monthly security updates THE VERY LEAST.
Phone must also have Dolby Atmos, dual stereo speakers, some splash resistance or IP52/3 rating and 4500mAh (or more) battery and a 7-series Snapdragon chipset or the newer Mediatek Dimensity chips with good ISP for great photos & videos.

I had an Oppo Find X3 pro and sold and change to a Motorola Edge 20 Pro. Peek display, much better battery life and user experience, you can´t put a price on that.

I heard Xiaomi's MIUI has been quite buggy lately and OnePlus updates cycle seem slower than before or is it better now? Not a heavy user. Just want something with very decent cameras, performance (not Samsung slow One UI) and true whole day battery life.
In the end which company would you go for a balance of very decent cameras, performance and pushes slightly faster updates?

                            Will you review this phone?

I think if you are a heavy user of the phone, you should go with OP Nord 2T or Realme 9 Pro+, as both have very fast charging speeds, also better batteries compared to the Motorola Edge. Also from what I saw in some reviews on YouTube, the cameras tend to be better on OP and Realme. But, of course, this could be subjective.
Motorola is better for design, is really the best looking phone from all three. Also, if you prefer less bloatware and a stock Android feeling, than Motorola is clearly for you.

In the end, I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. All three are good mid-range phones from 2022.
                              Good luck!

Grey Wolf, 06 Jul 2022I have the same problems in choosing a device now. I have a... moreVery true. Choices comes down to so many factors such as budget, what you need in a phone, etc. And I must say you absolutely read my mind with my choices. I don't like curved front screens and you nailed it in the head re the Galaxy A53. If only One UI allows vertical app scrolling, third-party icon pack customisations and full Android gestures compatibility especially when a third-party launcher is installed. Until then I'll look elsewhere.
You also nailed it with Xiaomi/Redmi. You are not the first person to comment about the buggy MIUI OS. When I had the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, Poco F3 and Redmi Note 10 Pro all in a span of more than the past 12 months i cannot doubt the performance and battery life of them. My experience is less of the bugs but more of ads, lack of features and the extremely slow updates (which to some might also translate to "bugs") which again going full circle mean there will be more bugs in the long run.
I'm "edging" (pun intended) towards the Moto Edge 30 (hoping against hope what Lenovo-Moto has said about updates despite their longstanding history of slow updates) and Realme 9 Pro+ despite the phone not having any official IP-rating or being splashproof which is a big deal for me tho i heard from sources that it is safe in light splashes. The Nord 2 is a close third choice which doesn't have an official IP rating but OP phones are known to be splashproof anyways.
So, what do you think? What are you thoughts on my choices and what it will come down to choosing my next phone?

Gino76ph, 05 Jul 2022For front & rear cameras: Natural-looking / true-to-lif... moreI have the same problems in choosing a device now. I have a Samsung phone and a Honor phone right now. Both second hand, older models. So, I am planning to buy a new phone released in 2022.
To make this comparison even harder, I will throw in Honor 50 and Galaxy A53 models too. Both of this at similar prices with the models that you mentioned, in my country.

As for now I am inclined towards Moto Edge 30. But, I am not a big fan of stock Android. Also, I heard Motorola are very slow on their updates. Even though they are promising good updates for this particular model.
I will definitely not buy Redmi/Poco phones. For me are just cheap quality Xiaomi phones. Good specs, but lots of bugs in the software.
My second choice would have been Galaxy A53, at least for the software support provided by Samsung. But the hardware of this A53 is average at best. I am almost certain that in 2 years time this phone will lag a lot. So, definitely not a 4 year phone like Samsung is suggesting.
The best choices remain Nord 2T, Realme 9 Pro+ and Honor 50. At least in my opinion.
Technically, if you don't like curved displays, Honor 50 is out of the picture.
Between the Nord 2T and Realme 9 Pro+, I will choose OP for gaming and watching movies or the Realme if you are a camera person. I think the Realme has the best camera from all this models.

Very hard choice. Because each models has its strengths and weaknesses.

For front & rear cameras: Natural-looking / true-to-life (not too saturated), Decent OIS / EIS, Good dynamic range, Low noise, Sharp, Great audio recording and incremental (but necessary) improvement over last year's model - who gets your vote... Poco F4 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G, OnePlus Nord 2T, Realme 9 Pro Plus or Moto Edge 30? And your Top 3 in fastest in pushing updates?
