This phone is a flagship killer, it offers high-end specs without the high price tag. The combination of the powerful Soc, incredible display, and MiUX, it offers the best android experience by far.

The phonr actually does 4K60 out of the box. Didn't compare it with other phones, but the videos are actually 4K 60fps, so don't know is they change that on the fly. It's a shame that they actually took the telephoto tho.... and the IP certification.... they lost a chance to avenge the Edge 20 Pro. the rest of the phone is actually really good

Depend on region again, this thing 12GB/256GB version sold at my country at $620, is the cheapest 8 Gen 1 smartphone. Direct competition is Realme GT2 Pro and Xiaomi 12.
What differentiate this smartphone among the crowd of course is the OS experience, and the USB3.1 output to HDMI, also the Full HD+ screen, wireless charging (even not the fastest)
The OS experience of course is the near stock Android experience, and enjoy fast updates for Android 12.
I would say this is the dream come true for those who really want a true flagship killer with stock Android experience.
Not a perfect smartphone by any mean, but a worthy buy nonetheless.

It is the same practice where Samsung do with their GOS.
I can't say this is good or bad, this is like turn on battery power saving mode by default and you cannot control your smartphone.

80h endurance rating is very low, there is def something wrong with the software preventing this from being much better. Its primarily the 3g talk time numbers affecting this because the web browsing and video playback numbers are actually pretty close to other SD8Gen 1 phones. Still no where near class leading but only a little behind. If Moto/Lenovo can fix the standby issue then you'll probably see a massive jump up in the endurance rating. At this point things like the Realme GT2 Pro would be a better deal. Or go with something even cheaper that is using a SD888/SD888+ At 900-1000 USD this phone is a very hard one to recommend....

i kinda don't like how SD8 Gen 1 fabrication process used by Samsung. also, more cons that doesn't have feature for this phone which doesn't look worth it.

Changing to full screen means that you have to change to another aspect ratio 20:9
I don't want to be forced to record video in that ratio.they didn't bother to check that, they were so rushed to launch the new snapdragon 8 gen one.
I'm a big fan of Moto by they do need to polish some things, like camera processing. For now I'll keep OPPO find x3 pro.

Either do serious intelligent throttling or just let battery drain happen for performance. Wait for 8 Gen 1 Plus with TSMC manufacturing for real 4nm power saving. But that might be rumor, as the culprit could be the Cortex X2 core that cannot be tamed.

For anyone wondering if this has 4k 60 fps. It does. But people can't directly activate it due to a bug. Which I have made Motorola aware of and they are working to fix it.
For now, you can enable it by selecting fullscreen aspect ratio, then select 4k and then select 60fps.

The phone shouldn't aim for the 1K price if they can't even offer IP68 water protection.
How dare you sell a 1K phone without slapping that IP68 on it to protect it?
I like how they push the charging speed higher than most phone (Except from China), but that 1K price without IP68. A joke.
