2nd: it costs less energy to use your phone than using your PC.
(There are increasing energy costs because of russia and it might come as far as an blackout anyway.

3rd: You are telling me that a 1000$ phone shouldn't be able to replace an PC or Camera (which is exactly their Job of being multiple devices at the same time in a small space).

Man, it's 2022, a Flagship phone is supposed to be very limited in it's capabilities and flexibility now.

Atleast it has USB 3.1 and can read SSD.

But again, I am buying a Flagship to be able to do all of those extreme stuff everywhere and not being bound to do it at home anymore.

      First of all I record at high bitrate, meaning 11GB per 10 Minutes.

      2nd, games and I often download YouTube Videos and edit some.

      3rd, I screen record every main, story and non permanent content in Genshin, as I play the game lore accurate, without a team, but the bitrate is a lot lower there, only 500MB per 10 Minutes.

      And while I don't shoot high resolution images, I still stack images for dynamic range and getting rid of noise, meaning a picture weights 12-20MB anyway. Any person has their own things they do on their phone, and the things I do just happen to take a lot of storage.

          I still know that they won't bring it back, so instead, I got an 1TB portable SSD. (My currently Motorola one zoom can read it).

            Now all they have to do is to improve the camera performance and slash the price by about 30% . . . Never mind about the price slash, it's already done as well. Matches the 12T Pro here now, in my market. So "only" the camera SW needs to match, or beat, the Xiaomi and a Moto can come back to the recommended list :D

                Please recommend Type C earphones for this device. The earphones I bought from Amazon are not compatible with the phone. Returned almost 5 of them. I don't want wireless. Please recommend budget friendly and not expensive.

                  Bought it 2 weeks ago. Till now everything works great. The device feels pretty premium on the hand, and it doesn't attract any fingerprint on the back. It's sorta big but lightweight at the same time. Everything on the screen looks sharp and transitions are perfectly fluid. The SD8 plus Gen 1 runs like a charm with any app or game you use. It's just blazing fast. Till date no overheating at all. Battery is solid, I usually get arround 7-8 of SOT with 30 hours between every charge (just consider I don't play games on my phone so often, coz I have an xbox). Camera-wise It's a 8 of 10: It takes great day and night snaps, but it falls short on video department coz autofocus at 60 fps it's simply not good. Besides of that I think it's an allrounder phone with excelent specs for the price. If you want more, you can spend more, but at this price point this is the most balanced option you can find.

                    It seems financially that is key. Also why the new names on the top 10 list are all Chinese. They have out-competed the others on price. Samsung and Apple have too strong brand names, and remain - for now, and most who buy them buy them for the logo/name and not the phone itself vs other phones.

                    Btw, another one of my favorite Moto phones was actually the FlipOut. Just awesome design and fun to use. My ex wife had that when I had the Milestone.

                    I still have a small Motorola fanboy in me, hoping they will make a device I can buy as my main device again. Still waiting though :/

                        DMX, 20 Oct 2022Your bot configuration is failing, of the motorolas that ty... moreThe phones I had was in Motorola's prime, when they were no. 2 in the world and almost taking 1st place, but then they failed to realize the importance of camera, Sony, Samsung and others stepped in and ate up Moto's market share.

                        The phones you mention is after their downfall, after Motorola stopped being Motorola and the Moto X was a Google phone. The Nexus 6 is a google phone. You don't like Motorola devices, but Google devices.

                        Don't get me wrong, the Moto X was fine, but the display was low resolution for it's time, but thankfully a proper RGB OLED, not pentile like most others. Camera again, not the best. The Moto X4 was the last Moto I recommended to others. Their support and camera performance was, as is still just too weak to keep recommending.

                        The funny thing is that back in the E1000 days, they did pretty good and was about to be the first with next gen camera with the successor, after everyone using 2MP forever, but they dropped their plans then Sony Ericsson swept in, "borrowed" the E398/StereoMoto design, but inverted the colors so it wouldn't be too obvious and crucially upgraded the camera. That is when Sony E started growing past Moto.

                        The StereoMoto was awesome, Steve Jobs also loved the StereoMoto so much he made the first "i"phone (the ROKR E1) in a joint venture with Motorola based on it. Too bad they put a limiter on it, in fear of cannibalizing their ipods. Another push in Sony's direction for most users.

                        oh, and your list of best Motorola devices isn't just bad becuase thye only include devices from when Motorola is just a logo and not it's own original company, but you even forgot the RAZR, which I had several versions of. Motorola sold over 100 million RAZRs in less than 2 years and about 130 million before it was replaced. No other Motorola phone comes close.

                          If you don´t like the camera perfomance from the Edge 30 ultra, try the pixel 7. I think Motorola is not the best but it´s a good all rounder.
                          3 OS updates is fine for me (Edge 30 ultra)

                              Anyways, here is a list of Motorola phones I have owned, and some of them I still have.

                              RAZR2 v8 (still have two of them)
                              RIZR Z8 (still have)
                              MOTOFONE F3 (which I got for fun whilst my Z8 was on callback service)
                              Zine ZN5 (which i regretfully gave my to ex-wife and she ruined)
                              Motorola Milestone (which i regretfully gave to my ex-brother-in-law and he ruined)
                              RAZR XT910 (still have)

                              All of these are from when Motorola still was Motorola.

                              My son currently has the Moto G9 Plus, which apart from the typical bad camera performance compared to HW and lacking software support is a nice device. It's just that camera performance and software support are two very important key features of a smartphone and Motorola does bad at both of them. Like it or not Xiaomi does better. Hence I switched and now have the Mi 11.

                              I'm not the only one to switch away from Moto. First to Sony, then Xiaomi, and with good reason. What will my next phone be? I don't know yet, as that will depend on who has the most tempting offering based on both my needs and desires at the time of purchase. Right now the Pixel 7 pro would be a likely candidate, but I'm not in the market for a new phone yet.

                              We consumers only fool ourselves and loose by being loyal to brands. Brand loyalty is a bad thing from a consumer perspective. Keep that in mind.

What is it worth having 4 years of bugs? because that is all that xiaomi delivers every time it updates a phone and when it usually does, I prefer 2 or 3 years, something that does not affect me because I change my phone every 6 months, 8 months at most, I prefer 3 years of good updates to 4 that only get worse one after the other!! ahhh that xioami duga that will give 4 years does not assure in time or frequency that of said updates, it still has 2021 phones in android 12
