Using Lenovo's tool, called RSA, you could update your Moto Edge 40 to Android 14. It supports clean installation of OS (erases all data).
After installing of Android 14, I have received a security patch for July now.

You can choose to factory reset phone, or just to install update.

Nice display but battery life is woeful for me and i am not a big user. Only ever had one update, no pathway to android 14 it seems and despite it being advertised as dual nano sim on GSMARENA it is not dual nano sim..very misleading.I would trade it in but trade in price is very very poor so will pass it on to someone in family.Has put me right off motorola mobiles.

I use it for more than 3 months. But it's good, smooth and powerful in games. It doesn't get as hot as I feared. Very acceptable camera. As for the battery, it is not large. I was ready for that. I got Android 14 a week ago, but 13 was better. In general, I am happy
The phone is not new, it is used. I got it for $170

Chile here, still haven't received Android 14.
Phones like the Moto G34 and Moto G53 have already received Android 14, but phones like this one and Edge 40 Neo haven't.
