Hi.
I have this phone. Really good all round. Not sure why the review tests have given the endurance rating of 80. I find the battery be very good as a moderate user. Also got a 10% voucher from Motorola so it only cost £269 which I think is a total steal for a great screen, battery, stereo speakers, two OS updates and IP68!

Edge 40 Neo is Hi Res Audio Certified, both Wired and Wireless, while Edge 40 is not. Based on what is printed on boxes. I am surprised this is jot being discussed and if true, even more surprised that Moto is not marketing this is as a huge plus point for Neo.
Can anyone confirm my point above??

I think MediaTek is a more realistic expectation coz only then Motorola can provide this phone with all its features at this aggressive price point.
Yeah, I've been using a budget Moto phone and its updates have been poor sadly.
I've never used Custom ROMs anyway so I have no idea about that.

Petri S, 01 Oct 2023Your suggestions makes no sense to me, sorry. GW3 is on my ... moreHi, I am the one who posted that comment, not the person you tagged. You might have gotten confused.
Anyways, technically you are right, Omnivision OV50A does have a larger sensor size (1/1.55" > 1/1.97") and pixel size (1.008 µm > 0.7µm) than Samsung ISOCELL GW3 on paper; but Samsung is usually known to be the more popular and reliable sensor provider (and of course Sony is known to be even more reputed than these two). It's quite evident by the fact that Brands are even hesitant to publicly claim that they are using an Omnivision sensor.
At the end of the day, it's all software optimization done by each Smartphone Brand that matters. Just coz your older Xiaomi 11 Lite NE didn't do so well, doesn't mean GW3 is a poor sensor. But yes, you're right that Motorola did use the same OV50A sensor on some flagships like Edge 40 Pro, Edge 30 Pro, Edge 40, Edge 30 Fusion, Edge 30 which does give me some confidence now that it might be an impressive sensor and a good choice for Edge 40 Neo. Though in the video you mentioned of C4ETech, he compares Samsung A54 with the Edge 40 actually, not this Edge 40 Neo. Edge 40 does have the same sensor but with a faster f/1.4 aperture (Edge 40 Neo has f/1.8) which does make a difference and that might be a reason for it being superior to A54.
IP68 is a obviously fantastic feature, no doubt. The only reason I pitched lowering to IP55, 120Hz and 8GB RAM is to someone try and justify the inclusion of Dimensity 7200 and UFS3.0 in Moto Edge 40 Neo which would make for a more realistic expectation that the Brand can meet.

If this model is in terms of price but update speed would be good & service branches should also be more in the market..
It would have been better if they had used a Snapdragon chipset

I had this and the Samsung a34 and the Moto wins simply because of the clean ui. I would recommend the Moto all day. This talk of battery life is not true, mine has been perfect and charges rapid. Trust me I am a phone nerd like all of us on here and yes it's the Moto all day. I could not find a single fault. Also the camera is also a deffo improvement on what I have seen before. The camera easily is a real joy and image quality is in my opinion phenomenal. It's a pleasure to own these devices. Rember these are complicated devices and we are only just starting out and remember these are only phones first world problem, I see people frustrated all day just because an app on their device does not work. FIRST WORLD ISSUES people need to learn to enjoy and appreciate these devices and accept that there's always a nag, the question is always going to be what YOU like and the real deciding factor is COST.

80h endurance rating with a batter of 5000mAh is slightly under average. But not sure how reputed are MediaTek dimensity chipsets when it comes to energy utilization. I have a feeling Snapdragons do a better job there.

I was confused between Moto edge 40 Neo and Vivo T2 pro, Moto and Vivo has its own advantages like clean ui, stereo speaker, buid quality, better camera(Vivo), stock dailer(Vivo) etc.
I have bought Vivo T2 pro for only one reason. i.e. Moto don't supports Miracast (Most non android tv support) for screen mirroring & I need proper hassal free screen mirroring feature which Vivo has provided.
