How many years is the software support for EU version 12/512 gb ?

In some Motorola support page , mentioned the support stop July 2027 for LATAM version 12/256gb ,same as Indian market version 8/256gb .
LATAM version looks like also sold as global version in Australia too ...

Recent sales promotion mentioned support stop August 2029 for 12/512gb version sold in EU , via Telcel network (Mexico ,LATAM ) .

Also reports extended the support for 12/256Gb version sold in Australia .
All reports are same as Gsmarena review mentioned for 5 years software support period .

Device still hard to find in EU market .Great points is the Excellent build quality ,great camera , Al apps ,maybe better than Edge 50 pro mass promoted in many market.

This was on sale in Norway during Black Week ( Motorola is agressive during these days once a year ) by having the 512GB version on sale for 271 USD vs 681 US normal price.

Let us not forget that it might be one of the prettiest phones out and with 512GB RAM and the specs it's a steal, at least for 271 USD. Haven't put my sim card in it yet, but use it for media, gaming etc and the battery lasts three days, so i imagine with my sim card, calling and a bit heavier use it will still be good battery life. The sound on my Jabra Elite 10 is actually way louder than on my Oneplus 12, and the camera have better macro for instance

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2024I'm not convinced about battery life getting better wi... moreThis is a gross oversimplification. It heavily depends on the SOC energy draw under load as well, not just the battery capacity. A device with a Dimensity 7300 or Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and 4500 mAh battery, for example, will actually outlast a device with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and 5000 mAh battery under most scenarios - idle, day to day use, even gaming. Heck, even the Edge 50 Neo has better active user score and real world battery life despite a 4300 mAh battery. The SD 7 Gen 1 is just an energy hog. May be not under idle, but under load and even day to day usage, it is an energy hog.

You can see this with different SOCs and same battery capacity as well. Edge 50 Fusion has better battery life under all scenarios than the vanilla Edge 50 on the same capacity. Same with the Galaxy A34 vs A54, and A55 vs A35.

                        SOC power draw matters.

I sign the test. Had an egde50pro, then switched to the honor 200pro. Motorola has excellent ergonomics, no phone can fit in the hand like a Motorola with a leather back (thin, narrow and light, the leather is not slippery), plus it's beautiful. That smart conect is superb, I always connected the phone to an external screen via an hdmi cable (I'm not sure if the regular egde 50 can be connected via an hdmi cable since it has usb 2.0 - the pro has 3.0)! The screen is 20 percent brighter than all the others, it's the only phone where you don't have to turn up the automatic brightness! But there are flaws, as the test says. For that money, you need a stronger processor and ufs 4.0 like competitors. Also, we are talking about a pure android that can be boring. also, my 50pro had serious software bugs, mostly with the camera. Let's say the honor200pro is an ugly plastic case, but it's a machine inside.

ufs 2.2 on almost 2025 really? its a hell no 4 me its take a lot of time to update the apps !!

Yeah it's efficient in some process, but it still uses more power if you load heavy stuff (which is why I mentioned about game) & heats up.
Meanwhile if you do light - medium tasks most of the time, then it has more potential of better battery.

Is it better than ThinkPhone? Or ThinkPhone is better? Both are the same price on offer? Which one to choose?

The more efficient the SoC, the less power it consumes, allowing for smaller batteries to deliver the same or even better performance compared to a phone with a 5000mAh battery. While there are brute force methods to achieve this, there are also more refined approaches. Unfortunately, many people still see a smaller battery as a major drawback, even though efficiency improvements can make a big difference

If you play a game on both of the devices, the one with smaller capacity will have shorter life for sure.
