dpritam0002, 05 Sep 2024when edge 50 ne come to india, and can anyone tell me appro... moreConsidering that 50 fusion is priced at 22k & edge 50 at 27k, Neo will most probably launch at 25k (which makes sense considering the processor of the phone). Any higher & it will eat in house competition.

Update after a couple of days using the edge 50 neo.
- love the screen, looks great. Goes high in nits, not low enough by night but the android accessibility option to make the screen even dimmer works just fine for that.
- feels so good in hands. Perfect width, a bit tall but the camera bump makes is ultra comfortable to hold. Even if it's 4 grams heavier than a S24 it feels lighter holding it.
- performance is ok for my use (WhatsApp, video, outlook, teams, music).
- battery life is surprisingly good. Lpto (goes to 1hz, I checked) + efficient processor + modem optimization gives me better battery life than the S24. I ended my day with 75% left and 2 hours of estimated screen time. My S24 would have ended the day at 50-60% thanks to the crappy exynos and modem. The edge 50 neo can definitely be a 2 days performer.
- no heat at all while using it even on 5g. Video streaming would heat up my S24, here it's not the case.
- photos look at least as good as the S24. They're really good by night I'm really happy with what Motorola has done here. I did not test video recording.
- really happy to have wireless charging in a midrange.
- 68w charging makes all the difference with the 25w from the S24. 50% in less than 15 min. Sure it heats a bit but it's useful when you need it. I charge it wirelessly by night with adaptive charging activated.
A couple of minor problems:
- there is sometimes minor lag when switching from an app to another. Weird considering the 12gb ram (I turned off ram extension). This might be fixed by software.
- there is no screen on time tracking in hello UI anymore... I hope they will add it again later.
- I was a big fan of the double tap feature on the back of my S24 to display notifications. There's one in the edge 50 neo but the setup page doesn't work so I can't chose what action it turns on. I really hope to get a quick fix for this one.
- speakers aren't great...
Oh, and I protected my screen with an edge 30 neo hydrogel found on amazon, it does the job for now.

This phone is almost the perfect phone for what i'm looking for: flat screens, compact size, excellent Sony sensor, Dolby sound, etc. It's now down to £399 but with a 10% discount i could have now for £40 less.
My only issue is the tiny battery capacity which hopefully (?) can be offset with it's compact screen and chipset.
Shall I go for it?

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2024Thanks how camera ….fast charge it’s ok anyhow top upTough one. If I look at battery performance (which is very important to me) then definitely the Edge 50. If I look at the major update support (also very important but not blocking if not so elaborated) then I would say the Pixel one. In terms of build quality, screen and look and feel both are very good. Don't know if that helps you.

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2024Thanks how camera ….fast charge it’s ok anyhow top upAbout fast charging, I don't use it. Too lazy to get the charging brick so I use my old 25 watt charging brick. Fast enough for me. And about the camera I am very satisfied with what is taken, also the pics taken in low light. On the other hand I might not be the person to ask this as I'm not at all a photo savvy guy. If it's good enough on my phone's screen then it's fine. If it's like crap then not of course.

CamoGeko-XDA, 06 Sep 2024Yeah pixel have gone downhill since Pixel 4XL, Pixel 5 and ... moreGoogle is compromising on innovative features for ODM-based solutions. That's why I suggest not to expect a seamless experience on any Pixel series device. If they're compromising, it's the responsibility of buyers to avoid such devices, not support them and hope for the best.
For the Motorola, try to ask them for a refund for the extra amount you paid for the 512GB model, or for a replacement. If you have set up your phone already, don't mind the hassle of transferring the user data to a new phone.
