ThatOneWeabo, 03 Apr 2024decent midranger don't see much on why people are comp... moreAt this price UFS 2.2 is absolutely unacceptable, when phones that are half the price, or less use the same storage type, including some of Motorola's own phones, for example the G84. It also doesn't deserve the Pro naming, which makes it seem like a huge downgrade compared to the Edge 40 Pro, I understand that there is a price difference, but it's not a successor of that phone, it can't even really be called a successor of the standard Edge 40, and in some ways it's not even better than the Edge 30 Fusion. I'd say it should've been called Edge 40, and should've had UFS 3.1 storage.
I understand that it's just a name, but it's as if the S25 Ultra were to launch next year with a 7+ Gen 2, or something like that, and kept the awesome cameras, but dropped down the price to around $800, sure it would be cheaper than the S24 Ultra, but it's just wrong. (Would be amazing value though, I guess.)

If the price is below $350, then it will be a decent midranger. Cameras seem to be good, but its biggest problem is the storage 2.2, which makes no sense. That type of storage should only be used for budget phones below $250

I don't understand why it is equipped with a SoC that supports UFS 3.1 storage speed and yet it only has 2.2.

Strange that it's UFS 2.2 cause from what I have researched that SD 7 gen 3 only supports UFS 3.1 and again if You think about it they provided USB V3.1 OTG and Display port 1.4 so not sure what's going on here.
Again OnePlus Nord CE4 has same SOC with UFS3.1, so what's going on they need to clarify.

The difference version is kinda weird, they don't sell it as 8+256 and 12+512 but 12+256, why they think extra 4gb RAM without 256gb extension could make price 100 more dollars??

The only downsides are ufs 2.2 and lpddrx4 which most users won't care about. (The battery too but it depends on sot). You have usb type c 3.1 which doesn't exist even in some flagships. Very good cameras with 4k on selfie.

If it had 5000 mah with slower charger (80 or 67 watt) it would've been better. Also it would have been better if it came with ufs 3.1 at least instead ufs 2.2.

How or rather why do you downgrade to UFS 2.2 Storage from 3.1 in Edge 40 Weird Cost Cutting meassure there.

It should rather had UFS 3.1 atleast with 5000mh battery. These two things are very important and it is disappointing at for this phone.
