Anonymous, 15 Jan 2009since it is available in HK i guess there should be reviews... moreNot sure if eprice of Taiwan has a review on it. Among the phone forums in HK, PhoneHK is the place. (only due to personal reason with admin, I no longer post anything there, including my personal comments on EM35)

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2009Thanx,100 Moto for all your replies.I prefer music than cam... moreMenu is so fast that I actually find the keys being a bit over-sensitive.
2 built-in themes are available: dark and light
For FW version
R6743_G_74.12.02R
Yes, menu can be set to grid, list, or spinner. I'm so used to grid as I find getting through spinner actually takes longer.
Now I wonder if anyone still doubts I've an EM35 or not...

Thanx,100 Moto for all your replies.I prefer music than camera so I would choose EM35. But I would miss the wi-fi feature.
How about the menu in EM35? Is it fast? Can you tell me about the themes coming built-in on the phone? Can you make the menu in grid, list and spinner just like E8?
Press *#9999# on the homescreen and post your FW version, please.
Thanx for the replies,100 Moto...:)

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2009Thanks a lot 100 Moto. I will surely buy this phone when i... moreYou reminded me about my first "music" phone...Moto E398 from about 4 years ago.
Back then I was already amazed when E398 already supported 128mb microSD cards....when certain almighty brand was still "struggling" with RSMMC or whatever else...when Moto was already steps ahead supporting microSD cards.
4 years afterwards we're talking at least 8GB, if not 16GB! As mentioned, I only put 8GB card in my EM35 now, as a 16GB card would cost me over US$60, which will likely drop half in about 6 months! Currently storing all of my favorite songs (plus lots of photos) only take a bit over 4GB....
Hope EM35 will be available where you live soon, so you can share your experience as well.

i have z8 8mun... moreFor review on Zn5, you can go to Mobile Review . com
"please review zn5 about camera, camrecorder, speaker volume, speedy software phone, lcd clarity,..."
Actually I haven't used the camera function on my Zn5 that much, as most of the time I still prefer to take photos with my Canon G9. Of course Zn5 can capture real "snapshot" way better than my first DC...Nikon 770
For music quality, if Moto's Rokr series like EM35/E8 gets A+, Zn5's music quality probably gets an A- or B+. Not that it's bad, just if you have tried something else being better, you would feel music quality on Zn5 being...
Never try the camcorder quality at all, most reviews do mention camcorder quality is poor. Again, I would recommend video should be taken with either a real DC or camcorder...don't rely anything from any phone.
Speaker volume is also "ok", rating is similar to music quality as mentioned above with EM35.
Speed is ok, though I'm using an 8GB (when Moto officially only supports 4GB), "sometimes" it may lag once or twice. Overall should be ok.
If you have been using Z8, which I also do, and if you can manage the different software on Z8 (which I "cannot"!), managing the software within Zn5 should be very easy. I can figure out most stuff like getting on WiFi without any instruction. (not that there is any to begin with!)
For LCD clarity, as though Z8 has 16 million colors, probably due to larger screen size (or better resolution, which you can compare the actual specs here), the screen of Zn5 (both phones feature my beautiful wife photos!) looks a bit more clear / sharper.

Thanks a lot 100 Moto. I will surely buy this phone when it comes out. I had the chance to try a rokr e8 in a motorola store and i was impressed with its audio quality. Since em35 is at least equal to the sound quality of rokr e8, not to add that it's a slide phone, this definitely is going to be my next phone. I am currently using a samsung g600 which also has a nice sound quality but unfortunately cannot handle cards bigger than 2gb.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2009Are the speakers really loud? I'm confused in choosing ZN5 ... moreSpeakers on EM35 are louder than Zn5, as mentioned, the speakers on EM35 are so loud they help to make the vibration stronger.
Choosing between Zn5 and EM35 really depends on how you use the phone.
If you take photos more often, no doubt about Zn5.
If you want more music, go for EM35.
Also, Zn5 "officially" supports 4GB card, when in reality it supports 8GB (which I'm using), though some may experience some lag.
EM35 "officially" supports 16GB card, though this time I'm not sure if it unofficially supports 32GB, since I can't even afford a 16GB card at the moment.
When I got my EM35, 8GB card costs around US$20, while 16GB card costs over US$60!
Borrowing comments from our fellow Stuart from E8, the scroll wheel on EM35 gets you to the "destination" faster! (always like his analogy having the scroll wheel to work like a car, where one still has to "walk" to arrive the ultimate destination) The scroll wheel is probably the next best thing than touch screen when one needs to navigate over 8GB of media files.

Are the speakers really loud? I'm confused in choosing ZN5 or EM35. Em35 aren't available in my country.
How's the speakers comparing with ZN5? I know that ZN5 has only one speaker but if EM35 is loud but not far too loud compares with ZN5,I would choose ZN5.
I need your opinion,100 Moto.Thanx.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2009thanks again 100 Moto. How does the audio quality compare w... moreAs though I owned E8 for a few months, I never got much chance to use it.
From my subjective opinion, music quality on EM35 is "at least" on par with E8, if not any better.
Suggest you try out a unit if you can.
I only wish EM35 came in any other color...as red is really...(wasn't exactly pleased with the "green" on my Z8 to begin with)

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2009Thanks 100 Moto. Now if anyone would be kind enough to make... moreGot the phone last week, but didn't have time to test it until yesterday.
Speakers are quite loud, which makes some soft ringtone loud enough to be heard. Indeed, the speakers are so loud which helps to make the vibrate function even stronger.
Music quality is among the best of Moto. (which can make my E2 semi-retire!) Personally I turn off the fast scroll wheel, though I'm sure once I put all the songs into the phone, I'll use it more often.
Radio works without the headset antenna, and reception gets better with the headset antenna.
Correcting what I mentioned earlier, as Moto's website in China mentioned the phone has Crystal Talk 2, though I can't really prove it. Spoke to my "designated" friend for phone testing, he thought it was ok...probably A- or A, (while flip phones with Crystal Talk like V8/K3 would get A+ or A++!)
The "manual" keylock on the side works better than the "auto" keylock on my V8.
If V8 gets A+ for reception, EM35 gets an A as well.
