Bought this phone on ebay at the end of May for 175US (includes the shipping to Barbados). I had done a lot of research on the phone since I'm not a person who changes phones often and I didn't want to be stuck with crap. So, from that, I knew the battery life wasn't going to be the best, but which smartphone has a good battery life anyway. I knew the specs, saw the pics and thought I knew what I was in for. I didn't. This phone is FREAKING AMAZING. No no, that's not an understatement. It does everything I could possibly desire. the interface rocks, the 2.1 (eclair) is compatible with alll the apps I want. It's fast, robust, stylish, unique and mine mine mine. I look at all my BB obsessed friends and family and laugh at their phones. The phone is so awesome my sis is getting it to replace her BB which she was addicted to. My bf has an iphone and even he can admit (rather grudgingly) that its awesome. It never lets me down. However if you're a serious gamer, this phone is not for you unless you intend on rooting the phone and installing the apps on your sd card 'cause there's only 128MB of storage for installing apps and the games would exhaust that in no time, right now I have 31 apps on and still room for more. So all in all, awesome phone, just buy it if you're considering, its the best option in terms of price and quality.

rock, 27 Apr 2011does any one have idia how to disable gprs or edge connecti... moreHi.. I faced the same problem but luckily found the solution too..
Simply go to Wireless and Networks> Mobile Networks> Access Point Names> now here change the default numbers set for MMC and MNC - this change would not let you to connect to 3G/ Edge and would only let you use your WiFi.
Enjoy.

I have had this phone for just over a week and after the initial charge it hasn't held a charge for more than 5 hours without being used if I access the internet etc I would be lucky to last an hour I may just have a faulty battery. I was under the impressinon it had a good battery life other than the battery life I really like the phone

I have had this phone for a couple of days now on orange (£70 w/ a £20 required top-up) and its quite good! It has a load of features like GPS, WiFi, Android 2.1, a Capacitive touchscreen AND a full qwerty keyboard. Mine came 70% charged and it only took about 20 to 30 minutes on its first charge (although the Manuel stated 3 hours); great if you in a rush to get it charged and pop out.
Normal battery usage, hmmm. start it up at 8:00am and it will manage you until about 8:00pm a day. however, if your like me, the first few days you get something new, you want to be playing with it all day! and with non stop heavy usage i got around 4-5 hours with it (with WiFi and the likes on)
The Screen is a tad small at 2.8" (7.1cm), and the resolution is only 320x240 but that's the same as the Sony Erricson Xperia mini, and the resolution only really makes a difference in the browser on a non mobile site.
If your getting one on Pay as you Go i would highly recommend an app called APNdroid. it makes it so you can turn off or on cellular data as you wish, meaning at the touch of a button, you can make it so you wont rake in additional data charges as normally you get 250mb for a month, after that month, lock the cellular data until you get an 'extra' for data, for a month.
Overall, it has a well built feel, with metal band around the screen and a good, solid "flipout" for the screen. However, the back/battery cover does feel a little cheap (and the phone IS cheap at only £50!)
Another factor you need to take into account before you buy is the OS. Motorola have announced that they will NEVER release Android 2.2 Froyo onto the device, but as always with android, I'm sure that there is a ROM out there that will allow you to do so. The OS pre-installed on the device is very slick and smooth but can take some time getting used to (such as the menu layouts)
Overviews:
General Critisisms:
-Slightly dissapointing Video Recording when played back on a computer or TV
-Smaller screen than most android smartphones
-Needs charging every night
-Lack of camera Flash

-Loads of Sensors
-Capacitive, High Quality Touch screen

-Bright screen
Final Verdict:
Its a very good phone, Lots of features, and its very cheap at only £70 on Orange.

Why are people saying that this is a bad phone? In my experience with it, its quite the opposite!
The Keyboard is quick and responsive, It has never dropped a call and the features are outstanding! (WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS) all in one low cost package! And also, Even though its "Low Cost" doesn't mean its got a shabby build quality, in fact, it has one of the best I've seen on ANY cheap smartphone for a long time.
Yes, The screen is a tad small but it only looks small because its a square design, and personally, i have had no problems with the reduced resolution at all.
The Keyboard can take a few weeks to get used to, but after that you will be typing on it just like a blackberry.

Hi just read all the reviews, I got my phone via Orange and have had nothing but problems; now onto my 5th phone.
Probs I have had - phone constantly freezes and gets worse the more apps you download. Because of the freezing this stops you being able to answer the phone.
Issues with the touch screen and seems to have a mind of its own; especially when it is charging; while you are texting it presses other letters that you haven't pressed.
if you have a security lock on the home screen and th touch screen it playing up then it won't let you unlock your phone.
Loved the look of this phone and was really looking forward to using this but handset seems unable to handle the operating system in my experience which is a shame as I like the phone if it would actually do what is says it would

i saw quite a few posts asking about how they can move applications on phone memory to SD Card.
Well, if you are still using Android 2.1, its time that you moved on to 2.2 and i think the phone allows you to do that very easily.
Android 2.2 has the option to move the application to SD card instead of the phone memory.
The option is available under
Settings > Applications > Application Name.
but again it is available in Android 2.2 and above.
Hope this helps
Thanks
