Hello, I have recently bought this phone and I live in Albania. When I start up Maps It says "connecting..." but actually never opens. Is It a device problem or is Albania just out of GPS reach ???

Alan, 29 Mar 2011"This phone does not seem to come with a file manager ... moreThere's a very good reason for there being no file manager. It's because if it did have one, users would simply need something 'more' after 2 minutes. The idea of the Android system is, you get a basic Android core system, then you add all that you need on top.

All Android phones have free access to the Market, to search & install just what they need. As long as users try things out and do report back with at least a star-rating, others will quickly find the best of what they need.

Android utilities are a kind of open-source idea, which allows the system to go far beyond what the manufacturers could ever take the time to do.

I wasn't sure about this phone. It's an unusual design, small, and maybe with a keypad that's too small to use. But as a positive review, I am stunned by how much fun it is, and it's features cover all I need.

First, the points I dont like: Screen orientation - it has a mind of its own, and can turn things round when they wouldn't on a standard sized screen. Cursor D-pad should have been just 'slightly' bigger/squarer, its a tiny bit too small. And i'd rather the keypad slid down instead of spinning out. That said, it's easily usable once you get used to it, one handed is easy now. Oh, and having to open the phone to answer calls seems an odd thing (unless using handsfree things).

The rest of the phone, well, it does all that I wanted. Runs 99% of the Android 2.1 software, it's very fast (never gets sluggish for me, even with only 10Mb free memory left!). The touch screen works perfectly, sound is loud and clear. Calls are fine, never get dropped (on O2 & GIFFGAFF UK), Internet is wonderfully fast thru Wifi or GPRS/HSDPA (use Dolphin Browser!).

The cam was expected to be rubbish, 3.1 with fixed focus & no flash or features, but again, it suprised me. Photos are sharp, bright, and high quality, video is good enough too. I use LITTLE PHOTO from Android Market, and it allows all photos to be enhanced in sooo many ways you can waste ages playing with it.
Night fotos are as you'd expect, but on a sunny day, you will happily be able to print what you capture. Blurry fotos can happen, but as a photographer, I know that will happen with a £400 cam-phone - just keep still and maybe stand the phone on a surface to get nice clear ones.

The keypad is very small, so try before you buy. For me, it's perfect (i have standard sized hands). Great tactile feel, instead of the type used on the Motorola backflip and Nokia N97 (horrible). All buttons are there, plus 8-way direction which works great in games. A sliding keypad would have been better like on an earlier motorola of the same appearance, but this one is fine once you get used to it.

The screen isn't HD, or even millions of colours, but it still gives a sharp easy to read picture. Display is fast (turn off Androids useless fade in/out display feature!), and all games tried worked fine, even 3D complicated ones.

Battery life is as good as anything else, remembering these are mini computers now, not just a cell phone. I charge about every 1.5 days, depending on use, but I do use it a 'lot', with calls, camera, 30-50 txts a day, games & Internet over GPRS. Battery savers don't really do much to help. but batteries are just what they are.

The phone is very light, feels solid even with keypad out, and all the volume & on/off/unlock buttons are all easily pressed. The phone can be controlled purely by voice if required (80% accurate i'd guess), and even txts can be read to you, or typed as you speak them. GPS works perfectly, and with google-maps keeps you knowing just where you are.

In all, i give this a good 8 out of 10. It's an odd design, and definatly not for everybody's taste, but for me - if i dropped it & broke it, i'd instantly buy another without hesitation. I've had about 20 phones since my old N-Gage, and this is the only one i've really enjoyed using so far.

AnonD-6229, 15 Apr 2011how can i transfer applications from phone storage to memor... moreIt's a bit complicated to have Android 2.1 install to a memory card instead of the phones built in memory. There are guides on the Internet, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a direct way of doing it - so you can use SD card memory to store files and photos, but any APK files you install will always go to the phone memory and fill it up.
It's a bad mistake in Android 2.1 :( Google search for "install apk files to SD", good luck.
