I havent got the K1 myself, but planning to get one soon. As people complaining about the time kept on changing after they set on it. I've learned from my V3x that you should shutoff your auto time update by going to setting, initial setup, time & date, Autoupdate:off. Hope that works. Good Luck

Once again Motorola releases garbage. This phone is the same as a V60....The software has not changed. On top of that the time keeps resetting itself and if you get the Asian keypad K1 there is no Media Player. Motorola is rush producing any piece of plastic that has the letter ZR in it! Why people still buy Moto is a mystery to me.

For comprehensive and advanced functions (including video calling) get the V3x
If you mostly talk, text, and take photos, and you want a good looking, well made, and compact fashion phone, get the Motorola KRZR K1

T-Mobile UK's 'super 3G' high-speed download service went on 1 August. And T-Mobile pledged to triple the network's performance next year ahead of hitting a whopping 20Mbps by 2011.
Initially, HSPDA technology will provide download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps, though T-Mobile admitted real-world performance is more likely to be around 1Mbps - still rather faster than regular 3G download speeds. The theoretical maximum will rise to 3.6Mbps in 2007, the carrier said, then to 7.2Mbps and 10Mbps in 2008/2009.

High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a mobile telephony protocol, a 3G technology, which provides a smooth evolutionary path for UMTS-based 3G networks allowing for higher data transfer speeds. Current HSDPA deployments support 1.8 MBit/s or 3.6 MBit/s in downlink. Further steps to 7.2 MBit/s and beyond are planned for the future.

"What's HSDPA?"
It is an even faster system than 3G, and is the new standard that is being introduced. It allows for faster web browsing etc.
I think T-Mobile UK are already using it.

Jono:
Don't let them mess you about. The simple solution is to give a month's notice in writing to terminate your present contract and then take out a new contract with the provider of your choice. If you want to keep your existing mobile number you can do so by asking for a PAC code which will enable you to transfer it to your new contract, whoever the service provider is.
By following this route you will get the new phone free and you can choose a more competitive contract eg T-Mobile Flext. See:
