another review, making honorable mention of the outstanding build quality
"If there was just one reason to purchase the Motorola MOTOKRZR K1, it would be its build quality. The device looks and feels great, and gives a very solid impression without feeling too heavy. Measuring 16mm x 42mm x 103mm and weighing in at 103g, the MOTOKRZR K1 is 5mm taller and 2mm thicker than the original RAZR V3, and also adds 8g of weight to the device. Regardless of this, the K1 feels much more comfortable in the hand, and the extra 8g is not enough to cause a problem. Everything feels very solid here, and even the hinge mechanism feels quite durable."

i said all along KRZR would be greatly built. all you nokia fanboys and RAZR HATRs have nothing to complain about there any longer.

I just bought this phone and the problem i'm facing is that the time on the phone keeps on changing by itself. Anyone having the same problem? Please post your answer here.

The phone color is cool. Its design and overall looks are great. Just love its slim and thin design. Contrary to what some reviews say, its great for guys too. Downside: the audio playback seems to lack some of the higher frequencies. Ringtones which play well on my V3i and L6 which I also owned just don't sound right on my K1(Oh yeah, I'm a motorola freak - changed from my clunky Nokia 6681 and N73 - too pricy and too bulky) Possible speaker problem, perhaps? Vendor says its sensurround sound, that's why it sounds different (Is that true?) Had a long arguement with vendor. The cover over the small USB port is so darn difficult to open - you need to have sharp fingernails to prise it open. The two pin power charger supplied did not work. Had to change it to a compatible 3-pin charger. As usual, the motorola keypad is too flat, just like the L6 and V3i that I owned. Great for ladies with pointed fingertips but stressful for guys with thick stubby fingers! It sucks up the power too when too many features of the features are used. Have to shut it off when not in use to conserve power. Ever wondered why they use those small almost invisible miscroSD cards? I dropped mine and the design of my dark parkay floor did not help to make it visible. Had to go on my hands and knees before I found it. They are so darn difficult to pick up and handle, especially if have thick stubby fingers. Wise up guys! Make a decent type of SD card that all of us can use without being stressed out.

Does anyone know if the K1 has a flash with the camera function? Also, if anyone has hands on experience with the K1, can you tell me anymore features with the camera? Thank you.

8800 is a different breed of phone ,my dear dimwit. An ealge will never be a sparrow but a hen may ,more than likely ,end up on the table with its throat slit before it ever pecks any kind sparrow .

For the person who is comparing a hen (K1) and Eagle (8800),
8800 dont come with a memory slot. It is worthless to get a so call "hign end" phone when you cant download as much songs as you want , as much photo as you want , as much videos as you want , etc.
Nk should have made mmc slot in such phone.
Thus your eagle has transformed to a Sparrow. An soon the hen will peck on it.
So sorry ')>
K1 no comments.

I am planning to get a KRZR soon but am thinking about waiting for a new colour to be released like a black or grey. Does anybody know if Motorola are going to release any new colours of the KRZR?

The K1 overall rates better then the 8800 SE. The features are alot better and it comes with a FREE bluetooth headset in Australia!!!! (It's tiny.. and it's blue... so cute!)
And to all those people out there that keep bagging brands.. STOP IT!
Every brand has certain phones with flaws... what the hell can you do about it!
Just get over it and find something that you like!

"probably, those who prefer an 8800 over a K1 recognizes the former's design and durability. I think that if both phones where dropped from a considerable height, K1 would suffer more injuries than 8800."
depends on numerous factors. as a clamshell design of course the build isn't as stringent as something stationary. the 8800 is basically a candybar phone. the hinge is a very weak area for clamshells of all kinds so of course the KRZR would be damaged the most.
such a thing is silly, however. overall build quality is equal. this is not razr, there is no fragility for nokia fanboys to complain about. moto made sure this handset was rock solid, the reason why it's slightly thicker and heavier.
there is not such a difference in build between the two to justify the difference in price. the aristocrats buying the 8800SE are doing it to feel like rich exclusive snobs, not because they care about build.

I Loved MotoRAZR V3i. But MotoKRZR design is even better. I wonder if this phone still use unminimizeable java powered music player. I really need a music phone with a marvelous design.

8800 looks nice but does nothing k1 krzr looks nice but does more. and motorola have changed there notoriously difficule menu system for an easy to use one.
plus if you like your music i recommend purchasing the moto ht850 bluetooth headphones rrp £49.99 but only where them in the privacy of your own home as if you where in the street you leave your self open to public ridicule. and possibly execution
