The design is nice, although it looks alot bigger than the advertisements. I love the feature where one can switch from ring to vibrate (press and hold # key). No camera, well that's okay... but then again, I can't capture those special moments when my kids are kids! It's about time a phone that can be used to meet it's purpose (make calls)has hit the market again - what a relief! It is conservative yet very nice looking at the same time. I read somewhere that the keypad lights up when phone is in dark areas... Not happening to me. Should I activate something on the phone? I would like to see that happen! Overall I am happy with it and will most likely not change it.

Has anyone of you try to use your L2 beside a PC speaker? It creates very bad statics from mine. It is much worse than other phones, such as L7 or RAZR. It has a SAR rate of 1.54. Do you think it is the problem?

If this phone is switched off, callers can't leave a message? Anyone know how to change this or must it be switched on at all times (my previous phone allowed messages even when switched off)?

I just got my new pink Motorola L2 phone yesterday. While I'm still adjusting and getting used to it, I figured out why I was having a huge problem trying to store multiple names under the same name. Like some people, I used my SIM card from my old phone on the L2 so I didn't have to re-enter all of my phone numbers. However, the various numbers from the SIM card for the same person show up as two duplicte individual entries(i.e. house and cell for Jane Doe will show up as Jane Doe twice with house and cell listed separately and you can't tell which one is which until you actually open up entry). So, I decided to test the difference if I stored the same house and cell for Jane Doe on the PHONE memory. Well, it turns out that when you store multiple numbers on the PHONE memory under the same name, there is a little icon (home and mobile, respectively) that is displayed next to each entry to help you tell the difference which number is stored where. So, storing your numbers in PHONE memory is definitely better for organizing your numbers on the L2, but horrible for when you get a new/different phone and have to re-enter the numbers. Despite this setback, I still like my new phone!

I bought the L2 because I wanted a bare bones simple phone and that's what the L2 is. The phone has to be returned because one of the numbers on the keypad has to be pressed extremely hard to register and the persons receiving my calls complain of garbled reception. Also, when holding the phone, if the loudness button on the left side is touched, the phone ringer goes to silent and then vibrate. You then have to manually increase the ringer volume. This setting should only be changeable through the tools menu. Other than that, the phone is sleek and lightweight

I just got an L2 and like it so far, except that the manual doesnt seem to go with the phone, even tho it says L2.

I cant figure out how to do the voice memo thing, or how to record bits of conversations. Has anyone figured this out yet?

                Dave

there is a vibrate setting. just press the # button down to change from the regular ringtone setting to vibrate, and press it down again to bring it back to the original setting.

i keep seeing you cant store more than one number for a contact? that isnt true. when u create a contact, all you have to do is go to that contact, click edit, scroll down until you see "MORE..." and press "Phone Number" and it lets you put another number. now, one thing I personally have not found is how to lock the keypad. im doubting its possible for this phone.

I read that the phone does not have a vibrate setting. So does this mean that the phone will either be on silent, or ring?

just got this phone today, much better than my LG C1500...real bad, please avoid lol. but anyway, the design is nice, a bit odd to work some of the features out but you'll get used to it. for its memory, a cam would be a waste, which is why there is the L6/7, but its still no point since the memory is about the same. good fone for the nonsense phone user who still wants that new feel. the stuff about no vibration and some features that said arent there...they are there lol.

the fone is stylish but the keypad is way too hard the menu is not as interesting as the sony ericssons and there are no fields in the phonebook but flaunt value is much more than other phones

Quick review, not really going deep into details here. There are some things about this phone I really like and some things I really don't like. First the good things : This is a great simple phone. No camera, no iTunes, etc. Just a simple plain practical communication device. No frills, I like that. It's very slim and sleek, great to carry around. The layout of the keypad makes it very easy to use. The charger is small and great for travelling. (real good). It's not super heavy but weighs enough to not feel flimsy. The voice quality on calls is good. It looks good. It's not super expensive, I paid $200 CDN. The case is metal and it feels solid. (this is key). Seems to access the web fine, although I have not really tried much with it. Battery seems to last a good long while on mine. Speakerphone is cool. Keypad lights up automatically in poor light. Earpiece and mic are well positioned.
Now for the bad stuff : The biggest problem I have with this phone is the stupid PHONEBOOK. You CANNOT save more than one number per name. If you do they come up as multiple listings of the same name in the phonebook and this is really STUPID. Know what I mean? You should be able to store a name and access 2 or 3 different numbers, (cell, home, office) for that name. Instead, you have them all as separate entries and you have to label them as such. Since I believe this phone only holds 500 entries, if your friends are like mine and usually have 3 numbers, you're going to run out of room fast. This is the ONLY phone I have ever seen like that. The other 2 things I hate might be my service provider's fault, but I thought I'd list them here anyway. I get a txt message every time I get a voice mail. This is annoying and you just have to delete them anyway. Also the name of the service provider is always seen on the home screen, like a banner. No way to customize it. LAME. Again, these might not be Motorola's design flaws but they suck. My phone store and I spent about half an hour on the phone with Motorola and they couldn't help. Also the battery that came with mine did not work so they had to replace it at the store. Other than those 3 things, though this phone seems pretty sweet.

This phone is great and does everything I want it to do. I got this phone form FIDO Canada, but could not get it to voice dial. I did not see instructions anywhere on their manual. I called FIDO and they were of no help, they gave me the number to Motorola help. I decide to figure out the voice dial myself.
                                        1. When you get to the part where you want to record the person's name, you hit the record button; then it tells you to press voice key.
                                        2. Where is the voice key? I found the voice keys on the sides of the phone they are those two buttons on the edges of the phone.
                                        3. Press the two buttons simultaneously for a few seconds it then enables recording.

I hope this helps someone as lost as I was.

                                        Cheers

                                        Richard
