I've had my milestone since 2009....today however it started acting up and going "crazy' with a life of its own.....aps launched themselves, setting were changed mysteriously inclusive of language...the phone just went crazy.... nothing worked or is working at the moment. Anyone had this type of issue before?? I give up. I think it's a "brick/paperweight at the moment. Any help will be appreciated.

        Milestone - 3.7 inch 16m k color
        Hero - 3.2 inch 65K color

        The bigger the screen size and higher the resolution, the more power it would consume.

        Just like you can't really compare the fuel economy for a small Japanese car vs. a Mercedes Benz ML class.

        The hole you're talking about should be the proximity sensor, which turns the screen off when you put your phone near your face to talk.

        App2SD will be available along with the Android 2.2 upgrade.

            My cousin using Samsung galaxy Android OS can last 2 days standby.How about HTC Hero which can last 1 1/2 days standby mode?

            I saw how much is the price and wow kinda expensive (I get Milestone as a birthday gift from my UNCLE arrrr)
            nvm, all I want Motorola to do NOW is I hope for this following changes in Next Year's Android 2.2 upgrade

            1) battery standby last for 24 hours,
            2) prevent milestone shut down for unknown reason. happen when (charging,playing music)
            3) [PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION ON THIS] provide a free software like PDANet to use it as a modem for it to connect to my PC.
            4) I want wifi driver total update with overwrite.REASON? Milestone's favourite error, "turning off" and never turn "on" unless I reboot it
            5) I want to know what is the hole at top right of the phone (little left of the RED and GREEN LED)? seems to me like secondary video call camera but stated dont have such thing. THEN WHAT IS THE HOLE????
            6) Some enhancement for Milestone's Camera PLEASE??? eg. exposure value? timer? Got auto focus, so can add touch focus???
            7) Make it flexible, where I can install softwares and the memories goes to the memory card

            When its new out of the box,charged for 8 hours, it can only last 6-7 hours standby.
            I used the phone for 1 month and I faced many problems.
            I used the following program to enhance my mobile experience battery life which now can last 10-12 hours with some calls and messages
            1) PDANet(fxxk cant play Garena and cant go MSN weblogin page after 1 month PDANet trial de). I REALLY HOPE FOR A FREE SIMILAR SOFTWARE FROM MOTOROLA ON 2.2 UPDATE
            2) Advanced Task Manager
            3) Android Status
            4) APNdroid (a heavenly sofware which BANS all internet connection (3G,EDGE,GPRS) except GSM when i dont need internet, plus the main sure fire way which enhance 6 hours to its battery life
            5) Dont use any battery monitor (USELESS),cause my phone last 8 hours instead of 12 hours, factory standard monitor is good and accurate enough
            6) I removed any WIDGETS on the wall and replace all to shortcut
            7) I dont know what to do de. ANYONE WANT HELP ME GIV ME SOME IDEAS TO LENGTHEN THE BATTERY STANDBY TIME? THANKS!!!!

            I guess MOTOROLA did not do any torture test at the Android OS, however Bravo to the phone structure, I remember I carelessly drop it on tarred road direct to the screen, LUCKY not even a little injured structure still nice and beautiful =]I want to WRITE THIS LONG at here SO THAT I COULD EXPRESS MY 1 year LONG WAITED PDAs!!!!!

            I am a SE user for 4 years de with my k800i, I am a university student and I dare to SAY 90% using PDA touchscreen. I felt so low,so I plan to get 1 myself. Hey anyway my phone internal(unstable call line,camera on by itsself,some corrupted images from camera cant view from PC also) are failing to me

            Motorola was A MOBILE Champion in 1990s. I surveyed touch and experienced SE X10, NOKIA c6, N97 from my course mate they dont give me the Premium and look more like a toy because of PLASTIC!!!! yucks!!! to me especially X10 very PLASTIC!!! .
            when I got milestone all of sudden and WOW! I got a high class phone from Ferrari???? I am so FREAKING LOVE UR MILESTONE

            My new budget is $1500 Sing Dolar will be increasing cos I am still saving =]

            MY WISH
            I just want a simple PDA mobile phone with QWERTY keyboard slide but dont outrageous by adding useless and not practical gadgets in daily life (eg. GPS i am not NEVER gonna pay for it), the digital compass and google map works fine for me in my recent holiday when I am lost in KL.I am extremely satisfied with 3.7 inch and I laughed my friend's HTC 4.3 inch phone cos cant go in his jean pocket muahahahah.
            I want my Smart phone works just my laptop, view and edit word documents, 3G, broadband modem function without relying on PDANet. Milestone as modem connected to PC using PDANet download speed was like insane 1Mbps speed on 3G network, spec say it can support up to 10Mbps. I dont know how to test it till that speed.
            What is smart PHONE?, right! PHONE at very least last for 48 hours and I think its ok. no need till 3 to 5 days I know big screen cant do that.
            HEY IPHONE 4 CAN LAST 4 DAYS standby by using default batteries!!! I saw my coursemate got it so I can prove I am not lying. I hate IPHONE even if Jailbreaked. battery replacement, ear piece,cost me a bomb. I am only a student not much cash to pay those

            DEAR GSMARENA PLEASE SEND MY REVIEW TO MOTOROLA because I am such a noob guy,I dont know how to send them. I AM PLANING for Motorola DROID 2 Global or Motorola MILESTONE 2 from Singapore next year. I dont know whether those are good and reliable phone or not. My review may not be perfect but I just want to express what I want.

                Think about this, the screensize of Milestone is at leaset 50% more than K800. Do you think larger screen would consume more power?

                How about the constant updates on Facebook, email, etc...? Does the K800 do that? Do you know constant data transfer would consume more power?

                The solution is so easy -

                - get an app which saves power
                - charge both at home AND office
                - carry a spare battery (which iphone can't do!)

                  The phone costs around US$450 where I live, unlock without contract.

                      WTF??? Malaysia didnt sell Motorola Milestone??? Noob country,even Singapore sold it earlier this year Jan de zzzz

                      I just got Milestone (2nd phone) from my relative. yeah a gift =]
                      Well what I have to say? This phone may not be superb like other phone but HEY! its still a phone right? haha I LOVE ITS BUILD!!! solid and have the classy premium feeling when holding it!!!!!! to screen really OMFG scratch resistant!!! cos I dropped it on tarred road direct to the screen,not even a scratch appeared!!
                      I hate its user interface at beginning,but soon I LOVE it as I understand about it.I love its QWERTY keyboard!!!!

                      BUT I wish motorola take not about my REVIEW T,T

                      1. THE BATTERY!!!!!!!!! WAH!!!! max I can get is 12 hours!!!! so lau yah!!!! my SE K800i (3 years old) can standby last for 4 days uncharged!!!! At very least let the Milestone last for 30 hours of standby lah!!!!!!
                      2. WTF zzz I cant use my phone as Internet Broadband modem =,= I dont want PDANet(dont lie is free,after 1 month u cant play online games,cant download music only can suft facebook and yahoo zzzz). Its my phone, how come ppl can control my phone fully yet I cant? even my other phone can do modem easily without depending on other softwares.
                      3. Aiyoh!!! U boost so special about ur camera zzz (no timer,no exposure value,no touch focus, face detection zzzz) So expensive phone yet no such features zzzzzzzz.

                          I just saw Motorola Milestone today at SM Megamall and they're selling it for PHP 19,000K. I currently have Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 which I have just updated it's software to v2.1. Eversince, I am a big Sony Ericsson fan but now I am thinking of replacing my phone with the Motorola Milestone. Feature, specifications, quality built, and screen size---Motorola Milestone is way ahead and it has left me drooling over it. Will be be a good buy and at the same time, practical to get Motorola Milestone to replace my Sony Ericsson Xperia X8? I'm really in a dilemma here. Please guys, I need your feedback, comments and suggestinos regarding my situation. Thanks!

                                        Hello Guys :)

                                        Can i ask a question regarding Motonav?

                                        Because im chosing between this and Htc Desire.. but this one fits my budget and it has a qwerty keyboard.. the only thing i will miss here is the HTC sense UI, which i think is great.. and back to my question..

                                        Is Motonav, a map software like the nokia maps that i can use it anywhere even though im not connected in the internet? for example im in the car and can still use it?.. unlike google maps that it needs internet to load the map.. and one more thing, is it free or after 90days or sometime, is that i cant totally use it anymore? Thx! :)
