O... moreYes,just last week,a minor update was released,Build Number:SHOLS_U2_02.36.0;this particular firmware upate fixed the alarm issue,random restarts and interactive wallpapers are the main bugs cleared in this update,it also reduces the amt of heat liberated while on call.This is available via OTA atleast in India (Am residing in Inia)

Is digital compass availble as built in software as it appears from the spec indicated in the review or is it to be purchased from the market? How useful is this?

as for the camera app, i'm using Camera360. it has so many cool features. for example : lomo camera mode. this mode can really enhance your photo drastically. even an ordinary office meeting scene looked more interesting just by using this mode. :)
and there this mode called Tilt Shift Photography. works best in macro. it basically turn any of your objects to looked like it was a miniature by defocusing the rest of the area. this one kinda hit and miss really, but it create an interesting photo nonetheless. and that's just two of many other features that this app has.
you should try it, there's a free demo on the market but only take small megapixel photo. i used the demo for a few weeks and then after i tried all the features, i decided to pay for it. worth every cent. :)

been using milestone for a month.
so far it's been a great experience. loves android! there's soo much you can do with this OS. great apps too! i even upgrade the camera app for the paid one because it's so much better than the standard camera app. :)
bad thing is, the alarm is kinda hit and miss. sometimes it works, sometimes it worked but waay too late. and sometimes it just didn't work at all. :|
paired with motorokr s605 bluetooth stereo headphones and BAM! can't leave home without it. awesome!
for those who is still standing on the fence abt purchasing this phone, jump right in! you won't regret it! :)

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2010HI guys i am not here to offend anyone or anything like tha... moreI completely respect your opinoin,According to me the best ever cell phone I have is milestone.I had almost forgotten to power on my laptop,just because of this phone....I am able to do all the work which is based only on cloud is handled by my phone.Eagerly waiting for froyo.About the interface,I have no issues,I dont know,why you did not like the UI?Its vanilla android and the simplest possible UI..End of it,Great phone by moto...

X10 is not so far
even with 1 ghz and android 2.1 vs
OMAP 550 mhz with 2.1 proof by

2.2 is better than X10 with 2.1 not to
mention droid get the best GPU also
faster the any other device available
proof by the benchmark. Soon Milestone get froyo and will beat even X10 updated to 2.1

HI guys i am not here to offend anyone or anything like that and i am entitled to my own opinion, the motorola milestone is possibly the worst phone i have ever come across, the battery life is very poor and the whole interface in so non user friendly; i storngly belive and i am sure it will happen that Android need to come up with a better user interface, android have big potential. However i feel let down by the milestone hence i am therefore getting rid of it.

Hi Guys
Hoping you could help me with 2 things.
i had a milestone , and it was problematic i sent it in for repairs came back with the same problem,so they sent me a new one. i love this phone and had no problems besides the fact that it did not want to read any sim card. nevertheless i now have a new one and want to get it up and running again,having mu "baby" back to normal.
So i need to know 2 things: firstly how do i setup my GPRS settings, i dial x123x13# it keeps saying it will be sent to me but it never comes, is there perhaps another way as MTN is not helping much as well.
Secondly how does one bluetooth songs from thing phone it does not give me that option.
I would appreciate your help and response.
