Google's Android takes No 2 spot from iPhone in US
                            11 May, 2010, 0130 hrs IST, REUTERS

SAN FRANCISCO: Google Inc displaced iPhone maker Apple Inc to become the second most popular provider of smartphone software in the United States during the first quarter, the latest sign of the increasing competition in the fast-growing mobile market.

Smartphones featuring Google's Android operating system accounted for 28 percent of US smartphone unit sales in the first quarter according to NPD Group, behind top-ranked Research in Motion, maker of the Blackberry phone, which had a 36 percent share of the market.

Dino G, 11 May 2010 if you prefer physical keyboard, milestone is the best. i... moreDon't forget there is a keyboardless version of Milestone, the XT701...with additional features such as

                                    - 9mm thick (let's see when the almighty brand can make such a thin touchscreen phone)
                                    - Xenon flash
                                    - Android 2.1 as new (no update require)
                                    - radio
                                    - costs about US$50 LESS than Milestone (for the keyboard!?), as XT701 costs around US$510 where I live. (unlock without contract)

fati, 09 May 2010i want buy a smartphone between milestone , x10 , iphone... more
if you prefer physical keyboard, milestone is the best. i found n900 bulky and slow - also check if nokia abandoned n900 / maemo-

iphone 3gs is a very nice phone with the biggest app selection but has poor battery life and no multitasking. For example if you chat on instant messenger and you answer a phone call, when you return to the app you need to wait for another log in.

between htc desire and nexus one ...that depends if you prefer htc sense ui or the stock android ui of nexus one and the Google logo on the back :)

x10 - never tried it but i guess since is bigger than desire it won't be easy to use it with one hand (few bugs were reported and its also using an older version of android until Q4)

                                      conclusion:
if you don't want to wait for iphone 4 and you don't need a physical keyboard i suggest htc desire. if you prefer keyboard go with milestone!
