Another observation with XT720: JPEG compression is high on default camera - 8MP picture is about 1.5MB. However if you use a third party app such as Camera 360 and save high quality JPEG the same picture takes about 5MB. Picture quality/sharpness is definitely improved with highest quality JPEG compression.

GSMArena, please correct the mistake about the phone's Ram. It has 256 Mb of Ram, not 512 Mb. I saw this on Motorola's site. The CPU of this phone is 550 MHZ, not 720.

Motorola engineers have racked their brains for the first time to create a mobile phone which can be called high end. Otherwise they are the dying breed with their "popular" clamshells

There seems to software update soon for the Xt720 but they don't seem to specify what will be fixed!
Response to the bad image quality and choppy video.

For the moment, we do not have any additional information on the exact features of the update, nor do we have a precise date for when this will be released.

From the motorola website, there seem to be a 2.2 upgrade for
MOTOROI (Korea) Initial rollout of upgrade to Android 2.2 planned for Q4
Hopefully the european version will have an upgrade too

Its really a good phone Motorola had ever launched in India. I personally feel my money worth by purchasing this handset. Go ahead and have the experience.

i'v been using this device past two months and i found its really awesome phone till date from motorola.
thank god! this time i bought the best device.
i would suggest from the bottom of my heart if any body planning for android device consider this model..

Ok about the 720p video, you need to buy a really good (class 6-10) sd card for it to work smoothly. The camera won't work without an sd card, and the one inside produces jerky 720p video. I think that having an Android with a point & shoot replacement, is worth the extra money.
