AnonD-683694, 11 Jul 2017What's wrong with mtk chipset?They're slow, they violate GPL (open source) license, they release kernel sources for phones but the source tends to be incomplete or not hard to build which make it hard to develop for or root the phone. The general consensus is if you buy a MediaTek phone, don't hope too much for custom rom. I no longer root or flash rom, but I think other people should have the freedom to. Also MediaTek performance is not very good.

Im a moto fan.....i have bought e4 yesterday....it looks great at this price...camera okay...but there is no gyroscope sensor so no chop to light...and there is no speed charging....over all its a good phone...

I believe this is a very good bang for the buck smartphone. Let's face it, nobody who's looking for a flagship will buy this phone. The USA version has a Snapdragon 425 (or 427 I see listed on Phone Arena) which isn't going to break any speed records, but it's a budget phone.
By the way, it's only $99 on Amazon.com for the factory Unlocked version with lockscreen ads if you are a paid Prime member. Can't get much for $99 today... Don't buy the Verizon version if you want to take it abroad, as it's locked and doesn't have that many options as the Unlocked version does.
I'd still take a SD or a MT processor, personally. To each their own, I believe the USA unlocked version will sell like hotcakes, even at $129 for the regular unlocked E4 without the added adware.

There's nothing wrong with mediatek cpus. There is no noticeable difference between its snapdragon counterpart in real world usage.
