Motorola Moto Edge 40 Pro in for review

Say hello to the Moto Edge 40 Pro - the company's latest full-on flagship that ticks all the right boxes. That includes the retail box, which is far better equipped than those of its Samsung and Apple rivals with a case, a cable, and a 125W charger all inside. Moto claims the charger will top the Edge 40 Pro's 4,600mAh battery in just 24 minutes - another thing unheard of among the market leaders' flagships.

Unboxing the Moto Edge 40 Pro

The Moto Edge 40 Pro has a 6.67-inch 2400x1080px OLED screen with 165Hz maximum refresh rate. The panel is Dolby Vision-certified and packs HDR10+. The glass on top is Gorilla Glass Victus, which tapers quite a bit at the edges.

Inside is the beastly Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. Also of note are the Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers and the IP68 water and dust resistance.

Then there are the cameras. There are three on the back - a 50MP f/1.8 primary, another 50MP f/2.2 ultrawide with macro, and a 12MP f/1.6 2x zoom camera. The selfie camera has a 60MP sensor and f/2.2 lens.

Our review is underway, stay tuned!

Saw the scores. Wow, what a performance! Yup, it's official - the 8 Gen 2 is finally a worthy replacement for the 865/865+/870.

X40 is for China only so it's China pricing. This is the European pricing. This price difference is normal for Chinese brands selling in Europe

The battery rating is 117 hours. That's pretty impressive for the size of the battery
