The problem with this handset is I already got only about 9 GB out of 16GB because as soon as we unbox the phone & go to Play Store we have to update
1) Clock
2) Calculator
3) Calender
4) Messages. and several other Apps. This takes us extra space
The question is why Moto provided such a RAW OS?
They could have customised it so that after taking the photos one can zoom it in camera menu itself
similarly they could have customised the file manager which could have served the purpose of three apps jointly ( File manager, Photos, gallery)
Very simple example we can not even rotate the photo in case we need

recently I purchased MotoG5. Battery getting drain out very fast, with in 4/5 hours without any use or any application running, even Net is Off. Sometimes phone becomes unresponsive.
already read remedies provided previously, but it does not solve my problem.

2) i have a case on all the time and so do others most likely
3) not on mine
4) i really don't mind it
5) aren't there other third party file managers available
seriously, what are you guys doing to your phones? mine works just fine and even i use it quite a bit (youtube, spotify, social media and the occasional game) i must also add that i have the 2gb variant, so not even the top one. if you're coming from a major flagship from max 3 years ago, you have to keep in mind that this is like a $200 phone, not a $700 one.

1) Battery backup is Very Bad
2)Body is not metal only back over is COATED WITH Some material
3)Camera hangs if one tries to view photos
4) someone here says Heating to 45°c is normal- This is RIDICULOUS
5)Very inconvenient FILE MANAGER ,Very less options available
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

This is a good phone overall, but the battery life is so bad. I have to charge it at least twice a day: sometime in the afternoon and at night while I sleep. I've tried turning off data and Bluetooth while on WI-FI and it does help a bit. But I need to play around with apps and battery options a bit more.
Fast charging is okay, so far my A5 2016's was better in this aspect. This has a small 2800 mAh battery, and it takes around an hour and a half for a full charge. My mom's LG 4000mAh battery takes roughly 2 hours (1:58hrs), and it doesn't support fast charge.
Everything else is good, camera is good, games run smoothly, multitasking is awesome ( I've got only 2gb of ram, so I'm guessing 3gb performs even better). But yeah, keep the charger with you at all times.

Bad support. Security patch level still at March 2017 and no update to 7.1. Regarding software support not the same as first and second Moto G.

I bought this because I had a Moto G previously. Navigation very bad because of missing compass. Direction shows anywhere when walking or driving. Also battery life got worse significantly after 1-2 months. I dont have many apps installed.

I bought the standard G5 having returned the G5Plus because it didn't have a compass. Your site said the standard G5 did, but now I have it, I find it doesn't. Please update your details and now I need to find a phone that does have a compass.

but if u r using ur phone without cover this feels too much on ur palms.

I threw this phone high speed at my radiator and it did not make a single scratch, but when I drop it on the road outside, there are small scratches.
Still very durable.

Moto G5 doesn't have compass Sensor. This makes you difficult in using Maps. You have to rotate manually maps to get idea of roads.
