I remember loving this phone a lot back in 2017 when I first got it. I don't know why but I always thought it looked super cool. Nowadays, the screen of my G5 Plus has burn-in because I used it as a webcam for a bit.

the photo quality is not the best but it still works. the only thing I don't like about it is that even though I'm using 32% of its storage, it lags a lot and when I play brawl stars which is the only game on it, it crashes a lot.

8.1 is the last version of Android to which you can update afaik. I still have one...but the batery is weak after all this time. I merely use it as a backup phone.

Zzzzz im pretty sure 8 is the last version you can get on a moto g5 plus. Unless you do some rooting and hack into the matrix.

I have this phone as a hand-me-down from my mother. It is 2023 and this phone is 6 years old but runs well for $200. I am a kid so I only use it for some stuff, but I am going to DC for a school trip and need a phone for emergencies, so I chose this phone. I have a Mint Mobile plan for it. THis phone is on Android 8 and doesn't connect to Work Gmail, and is very slow. Overall, this phone is good for small uses, like trips and temp phones, or work phones. 7.5/10

How do I update it?
Al... moreDo a web search for "Motorola Rescue and Smart Assistant" and download it from Motorola. Install the program and run it, I think that it was a fairly self explanatory upgrade process. This is an official tool from Motorola and the latest official Android release for this phone is Android 8.1, so no you cannot use it to upgrade the G5 Plus to Android 9.
My upgrade went from 7.0 to 8.1 without having to install any intermediate versions. Be sure and back up your data, the upgrade process might wipe the phone depending on how you do it. I didn't have anything on the phone that I upgraded so I didn't have to worry about a backup.

I have a spare G5 Plus XT1687 that I updated today from 7.0 to 8.1 using that tool.

if that samsung sd card couldnt read properly on other devices it could be a chinese clone.

Have you tried your memory card into other devices?
I know Samsung's memory card is quite good, it can't stop suddenly
There must be some fix!!!!! Looking for a solution!
