I have used moto g 5plus for 5 years it work flawlessly now after 5 years the mic is not working properly I switch to one plus 20 days back moto g 5 plus still in running condition battery got weaken I still keep it best mobile moto ever produced

I love my Moto g5 Plus, but in June 2022 several things stopped working properly. After testing endlessly, it seems some of the problems are because the Android OS cannot be updated beyond Android 7. So as various apps and networks upgrade their systems, these may not be compatible with this phone. For example, I can no longer connect to my ethernet through my cable modem, have to use the wifi via my iMac. And I can't connect to my work email on MS Teams, even though I can view the chat and calendar, go figure. I suspect that some of other posters here might have the same cause for other issues--the outdated Android OS. I plan to buy a new phone!

i am confident something can be done
as it is a samsung sd card purchased from official store and it worked really well for years
then how come it can get damaged suddenly?
did you find any fix to get this resolved?

hi all,
i was using a samsung 32GB memoey card with this phone
it was working fine from 3 years
but it is suddenly not detecting in this phone and not in any other phone not even a computer :(
when i insert SD card nothing is being shown on the phone!!!!!
how to fix this?
SD card does not have any physical damage
also i use it in this phone only
i dont switch it in phone also i always eject it before removing
what is causing this issue ? any fix?

yes, same problem with att, need 4 or 5 gig volte phone or not compatable with their service. can still text, get wi fi but no calls. Makes me wonder how much longer they will support 4 g. looking to buy a 5 g so its no obsolete in 3 years. was a great phone till the new sim card update and 4 g.

Love my moto G5 plus until ATT switched to 5G now I can't get on the internet with it. I've been on the phone with tec support twice ( I have consumer cellular service) they have tried to fix it on their end but told me that it's not compatible with the ATT new 5G up grade awill probably stop all together. The second person I talked with said to turn it off and then on each time I want to get on internet that seems to work.

G5 Plus no longer supported by ATT network as of 22 February 2022.
Useless as a telephone. Only a wifi gadget now.

I'm not 100% on this yet, but I'm pretty sure. So data still works, but it can't transmit voice 'data' over LTE. I loved this phone. Over 4 years old and very few issues. Guess I'll have to find something else now.

Great little phone! I bought my unlocked model used in Jan 2018 for $155. It's still working fine for pix, calls, fingerprint security, and podcast listening on daily bike rides. Haven't even had to change the battery. It is slow on some apps now (particularly a banking app) but that's probably from bloated code.

Bought the US version in August 2017. Have been using daily since then. Four and a half years now, and going strong. One of the best phones I ever had.

Best phone ever for first 4 years or so, but seriously starting to age speed wise. Starting to flake occasionally. (Having to make several attempts to hard restart once every other month or so.) Other than that, never had a cellphone last this long before and no ergonomic or functional gripes at all except as above.

I love the phone, but the camera stopped working 2 years ago and the speed has declined. It takes forerver to text.
