y is moto not releasing moto g in india on 15 march whereas they have released the smaller version in europe
they should be releasing both moto g and g5 plus together

The camera is still good. And your point about selfie cam being more important than main cam, is absolutely wrong. How do you shoot macros, record slow motion videos?

Moto should learn from them. now days Selfie is more important than rear cam photos ;) TBH Vivo offering DSLR effect. and I seen that. It's a fuk**ng good selfie cam.

One doesn't need hefty ram always.
If one observes,all phones with vanilla Android run on 2/3 GB RAM ( example- Moto G family,Nokia 6,5, Blackberry android midranger,last Nexus 5x). Yet things run smoothly.
Flagships with vanilla Android use max of 4gb RAM ( Moto Z family, Pixels, Blackberry Dtek60 )
Yet people go crazy about phones with high RAM.
Apple iPhone is a very good example of highly synced and optimized hardware and software experience. Yet many ( many being non users & absolute no hands on experience) hate it due to to its high price tag without slightest understanding about optimization.

What if you missed that few seconds of Active display? Then you have to physically reach for your phone to check notifications..
With LED you just have to glance on your phone and check if the LED is blinking.
Anyways. Thanks for the healthy discussion. I just wished they really didn't removed it.
Would have been a perfect midrange phone for me.

If you wave your hand over your phone or you pick up your phone then also it turns on for a few seconds allowing you to have a quick glance of your notifications. And I am an old user of Moto E2 4G which has IPS LCD display and this doesn't affect my battery life. And also I am not against LED notifications, I just prefer Moto display because it gives all notification in a glimpse.

Why people still think that more RAM is better. It depends on optimization. 2GB RAM is far enough for a normal user (average gamer). Always, more in not better. Ever saw iPhones?

What if at 11pm someone texted my while i was sleeping. I will wake up at 6 am.
So moto display will turn on my screen from 11pm til 6am?
If its an AMOLED display then there is no issue because amoled only turns on the pixel it needs. But with IPS your whole screen will be turned on thus will be draining your battery. It doesn't matter if its mostly black color. your whole screen is on.
I am not against innovation. but if its not better to what your replacing then don't do it.
Why not put moto display and don't remove LED notification?? its not expensive at all.

How about that I do not need to pick up the phone to see if i have a notification. how about that it can inform me that my phone is charging by going orange then turning green when its 100%.
There is no reason to remove LED notification. Its cheap, its functional. its efficient.
Why remove it?
Moto display turns on the screen and just waste battery.

Nikko, 10 Mar 2017Led notification is a smart and efficient way to inform you... moreMoto display turns on only when there is a new notification and let me tell you it uses only a fraction of battery life while doing that. It does affect your overall standby time but only a little.

no point buying this at rs 15000 (with only 2gb ram, or sensors missing)
